My GPU is getting up to 80c when i boot up, it does not make any sense to me, i’ve look all over the forum for a fix (limiting FPS, disabled OSDs, changing resolution, activating VSync + lowering all the graphical options) but nothing works.
does anybody know what may be causing it?
i played a bunch o modern games with no hustle, but it seems like D2R is making my GPU sweat.
been running it on a GTX 1660 + Ryzen 7 5700g and 16gb of ram
1st Suggestion: Set the target frame rate to 60FPS.
In my experience, the game can make even powerful GPUs cook if running the game over 60 FPS. Areas in the game with vegetation/grass (Primarily Act 1/3) seem to hit the GPU the hardest especially when running at above 60FPS.
2nd suggestion: Set “Environment Detail” to Medium or Low.
Lowering the Environment Detail graphic setting to medium or low reduces the complexity of the rendered models for vegetation and other objects, as well as reducing the number of grass blades rendered.
Bonus tip:
If you notice frame rate stuttering when there is a lot of action/sounds playing, check the “Disable Reverb” option in the audio settings. This stuttering is due to too many audio samples trying to play at the same time, which can overload your system due to post-process mixing of the audio samples in order for them to play on basic audio DACs such as the vastly common on-board Realtek audio chips. Disabling Reverb effectively halves the number of audio samples.
