I immediately noticed my gpu core temps went from 50-60c during game play to 95c after the new patch. This is absolutely insane!
Even far cry 6 on highest setting doesn’t run this hot.

There is a good chance that like the rest of Blizzard’s games specific graphical settings got reset with the patch. It’s a common occurrence. You need two settings changed to fix this:
- Enable vSync. It does work from within the game, but you can also try enabling it in AMD’s control panel as well, though the latter shouldn’t be necessary.
- Set the maximum framerate to that of your display’s actual refresh rate. If you have a display that is >60 Hz and vSync alone does not stabilize your temperatures, lower the framerate cap (limit) to 60 FPS.
These will bring down your GPU temperatures. Rendering frames your display can’t even show wastes energy and creates…well, heat.
