How did you override the OEM driver?

And is this a fix for the AVX issue?

anyone else try this?

I downloaded this and ran it. Says I have no driver or software updates that are needed. Just dont know how to override the OEM like OP stated

It worked for we perfectly.

sounds like he was originally using the basic driver windows installed for his graphics card, he replaced it with the latest manufacturer driver. Windows will sometimes apply generic or outdated drives for you. Many times it installs the latest version of your specific cards driver but not always

You can do this by going to the makers website (NVIDIA or AMD) and punching in your model to download the latest driver for your card. If you have your graphics cards bloatware install suite already installed (Nvidia Geforce Experience & [I don’t know what AMD’s is called but I’m sure they have one]) then you likely already have it updated.

same for me. no update for the driver and the game still crashes :frowning:

Mine started working yesterday. Must have been fixed by an update.

Summary

Steps to completely uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver.

Description

Receiving an error message when trying to install the graphics driver.

Resolution

Follow the steps below to completely uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver:

  1. Open the Device Manager using the steps provided for your operating system:
  • Windows 11*/10*/8.1*: Right-click the Windows Start button. Select Device Manager.
  • Windows 7*: Click Windows Start, click Run, type: devmgmt.ms
  1. Expand the Display adapters section.
  2. Identify the Intel Graphics device among the options listed.
  3. Access [Download Center] on intel website search for the Intel Graphics model identified in step 3 using the Search box located in the top-right corner.
  4. Select the driver from the list that is designated for the operating system (Windows 11/10, 8.1, or 7).
  5. Download the **.**exe file.
  6. Disconnect from the internet to make sure the driver will not be automatically updated by Windows.
  7. Go back to the Intel Graphics entry in the Device Manager.
  8. Right-click on Intel Graphics and click Uninstall.
  9. In the device removal dialog box, check Delete the driver software for this device and click OK.
  10. Restart the computer after the uninstallation is complete.
  11. Open the Device Manager.
  12. Expand the Display adapters section again.
  13. If no older drivers are stored in the system, the graphics controller in device manager should now be listed as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, Standard VGA Graphics Adapter or similar. If not, repeat steps 8 through 11.
  14. Reboot the computer when prompted.

If the installation is unsuccessful with the .exe file, try installing the driver using the .zip file:

I was getting the out of date drivers message when trying to run Diablo2R.
When I tried to update the drivers I was getting the same error message that was blocking me from being able to simply update the existing drivers.
The above steps to manually uninstall and reinstall from intel site fixed the issue for me.
It is important to disconnect from internet after you download the drivers.exe file so it does not try to auto update.

That worked for me perfectly, I have the same configuration on a Lenovo laptop! Thank you very much!
