Good ole Marius will come back in Diablo 4

Been saying it for about 10years now… Marius is coming back in Diablo4

When Baal kills him while saying “I think you should have your reward”

Baal is actually killing him so he can reborn in the burning hells as a Demon

Throughout Diablo history we see that those who flirt or help Hell come back as demon, Blood Raven, Adria, Izual, etc

  • marius has been the companion of Diablo for months…

  • Marius freed Baal

  • Marius Gave kept Baal soulstone safe and gave it back to him

  • Marius was in presence of Baal, mephisto and Diablo and fricking lived to talk about it

I’m telling you, Marius is coming back in Diablo 4 as a boss. He will have a giant bald head and smoke opiom and blow the smoke on you

I believe he already is in D3 as one of those rift bosses. Haven’t played the game in years so can’t remember.

Omg i hope that’s not true

After doing it dirty to Cain they did that to Marius?

Seriously somebody at blizzard call D3 not-canon plz

Marius can come back as a butterfly demon!

Ya know it’s about as good writing as they had for D3, why not.

Or they could hire a good writer.

Well if D3 is not cannon the three primal evils are destroyed forever,

If we keep the literature around D3’s launch then not at all. The Soulstones were used to prevent the essences of the demons to return and be, essentially, reborn from the putrid remains of Tathamet (both the corrupted Soulstones from 2 and the Black Soulstone from 3)

Source: Book of Cain and Tyrael

Not at all, destroying the soulstone doesn’t destroys the Prime evils

The soul stone is just a way to capture them to contain them and then destroying it send them back to the Burning hell, they need time to respawn and need to find a way to get back to sanctuary, they can’t just get there

Diablo did through horazon in the down bellow the cathedral, mephisto did through the Zakarum order, don’t remember how Baal got in tho, Andariel was brought by blood raven

There need to be somebody that opens them the door

And this trend continuous with Lilith in D4

They cannot die, unless you destroy the respawn point

People give D3 a lot of flack but I think they captured something cool about the game. You get this overwhelming feeling of power after a certain point and clearing those rifts pretty fast felt rewarding even on console idk. The story was ok too. I get that it wasn’t as gorey as the original but I have a feeling after D4 is released people will miss D3. Something about feeling like a god and blasting through everything is fun idk…

this is a quote from the wiki, Frauds post above got me curious…

" A vision of Marius appears in [Act IV] of Diablo III as part of Diablo’s attempt to demoralize Tyrael. When Tyrael successfully fights back the guilt, the vision is replaced by one of Baal’s lieutenants, who attempts to stop Tyrael and the nephalem using more conventional means"

I dont remember this. And I payed a lot of attn to the lore in D3, finding it interesting

I always thought they killed Diablo.

Marius needs to rest. What would be an awesome new storyline is Akara decides to up her game. She begins to delve into the darker magical arts. Using Wirt’s leg as a means to stir the cauldron. This may transform her in ways that you and I could never fathom. :yin_yang:

this would be discrimination against a certain protected group of people

They did kill Diablo. And Mephisto. And Baal. And Andariel. And all the other Evils. Multiple times actually.

Trouble is demons don’t stay dead, they get resurrected after death. The angels don’t stay dead either, but when they are reborn they are not the same angel that was slain, they just have the same life force. Usually they have similar personality as well.

I know they do not stay dead but are just revived again after a time. I thought the soulstones were made to prevent them from ever returning again if destroyed in hell.

The soul stone bound their souls, which was supposed to prevent them from being resurrected. The angels thought it would work. Unfortunately it was pretty easy for them to corrupt the people near the soul stones and eventually use them as a vessel to be reborn in Sanctuary instead of going back to hell to be reborn.

The soul stones were much worse than them just going back to hell after being killed.

Look at it more like if you own a store and you have a customer that breaks and steals everything and you don’t want that customer to come back … if you lock Him in the basement he won’t ever come back… that’s a soulstone for you

I get it now. I always thought the Prime Evils were screwed if the stones were destroyed in hell. I am glad I am wrong. But what of Malthael? Angels take way longer but still come back. Tyrael turned mortal so he is screwed, is Malthael able to return. I know what Diablo did to the try to do the the Crystal Arch but it was restored.

If you ever write a book filled with your analogies of D2 lore, I will buy it.
