GoMule no longer works

It shows all of my offline toons as “disconnected”. The shared stash seems to work, but I’m going to move it out of the way.

I have the same issue. Any character that I have started a game with in 2.4 shows Disconnected. Characters I haven’t touched remain accessible. It appears that the 2.4 conversion for a character is incompatible with GoMule.

I posted a ticket on their SourceForge site.

Yep, this is a GoMule issue unfortunately and we will have to wait for it to be updated for compatibility with 2.4.

Luckily Silospen is active and says he will take a look on the weekend.

At the end of the patch notes it shows some code that changed, that would make offline mods not work until updated

I got notified this morning by the author, so hopefully we’ll have a fix soon.

Message from the author Silospen:

Give this version a whirl, see how it works out Download GoMuleR4.4.14-BETA_Resurrected_1.0.zip (GoMule)

The bad news - Blizzard did indeed structurally change the character file format and the item format. So far I’ve only found the changes affected only a little bit of what GoMule is interested in, but you’ll have to use the game to time-warp items to their 2.4 version.

I have some ideas of how this could be made easier, for one here’s an empty shared stash from pre-2.4: Download SharedStashSoftCoreV2.d2i (GoMule)

What you’ll need to do is something like:

  • Load up your pre 2.4 regular stash in pre 2.4 GoMule
  • Load up this empty pre 2.4 shared stash in pre 2.4 GoMule
  • Transfer items from your regular stash to the shared stash
  • Move the pre 2.4 shared stash to your saved game folder
  • Open D2R 2.4
  • Now your shared stash is a 2.4 shared stash!
  • Open 2.4 GoMule
  • Create a new regular 2.4 stash
  • Open the 2.4 shared stash
  • Transfer your items from the 2.4 shared stash into your new regular 2.4 stash.

(Obviously you can do the same thing with characters, but you might not have any pre 2.4 characters if you opened them all up already!)

Let me know how it goes, also send angry email to Blizz about updating their file format :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

So it seems GoMule has been updated for 2.4, but unfortunately due to the file format changes one has to manually move and convert their 2.3 shared stash to 2.4 to be compatible with the updated GoMule (or something like that, I haven’t done it yet :stuck_out_tongue: ).

I had just pasted this message when you replied!

While it’s a slow process, I’ve been able to move a fair amount of my 2.3 stash over to the new format. All of my newly-played characters open just fine.

Thanks for the updates everyone.

I am having an issue with the provided shared stash though. I.e. When I open up the provided shared stash in pre 2.4 gomule, I am not able to drop anything into it. It opens fine in gomule, and I can click on the 3 tabs, I just cant drop any items into it. Anyone else run into this or have a solution to this?

I restored an old backup, cleared out that shared stash, then saved it. Is that an option for you? Btw, they’re on Github now if you want to post an issue: GitHub - GoMule/GoMule

Just funny use mods geez the game isn’t that complicated

Still cant get go mule working, used the latest version but still getting “disconnected character name” issue.

Hi Guys, it looks like GoMule can again noch connect, now with Characters in patch 2.5
Do we have to do the same as described here?

Thank you,

Chris

Forget my question, I found the solution
