Glorious idea how to Stop botting in d2r

Blizzard please its simple: ask some of your DEV’s to make encrypted Items ID - in my opinion its simple to make and it will stop any kind of new Bot to see Drop on the ground. Bot’s gonna be still a deal but u ll make them Blind wich means they gonna be useless .

It would not be so easy surely or comfortable for player to see some weird item names on ground, otherwise they would use it long time ago.

And how would players react to being blind? Bots respond to the same thing a user does when seeing an item, just on a deeper level. If the green mask is a death mask, then something is telling it that it should write out death mask right? How would that stop them?

Bots response to Item ID not name .every item got self ID and bots based on it - this change will not make items change name or so - only id wich players don’t see only bots DO… Another IDea is to make fast captcha before makeing new game.

The item ID is what broadcasts the name to the item. How would a user then know what item they’re picking up? If one is hidden, so is the other.

I fail the hard captchas often enough this would be an awful change. And the easy captchas all have been broken by different types of bots before.

Real idea is for blizz to have people attempting to create AI that sorts through logs of information to spot a general sense of bot like activity. Then their play should be reviewed and confirmed and studied to see if you can find a way to use that info, to improve warden to ban botters. It also needs to try and get access to bots and bot processes to see how to modify warden to detect them. Then, instead of banning in waves they need to ban them at the onset of ladder around day 1.5 maybe 2. Hopefully too they spotted something in their studies that would allow them to quickly flag anyone who attempted to restart botting. Perhaps similar proxies or VPNs, similar payment methods, whatever it is but if you mess them up twice maybe less will keep trying. Though honestly at this point, bots are so efficient they might still keep coming.

But alas blizzard loves bots and botters giving them free money. Even if any of your ideas had any merit or value, they would never use them. You already bought the game, you’re not goign to buy it again. A botter could even buy it twice per bot per season. Your concerns generate them no money.

Hard captcha upon each and every game creation is the only fix for bots. But don’t hold your breath for Blizz to do anything about botting… Bots need game activation keys and Blizz loves selling those.

What do you mean by item id? Only runes have specific id , which we cant see tho. Bots cant either. I guess you talk about item code? “Cap”,“xap”?

I get that we all want bots gone which is cool. But you have to use some logic in your process. Regardless even if you’re coming up with a good solid idea you’re only theorycrafting something that will never be executed. Blizzard cares more about the botters experience than yours.

Bots don’t pick up items by looking at the thing we click on. They don’t search for Green and then Death Mask when picking up a tal’s mask. They look for whatever tells the game to broadcast that image. I’m not exactly sure what it is called. Regardless if the item code wasn’t in the game or if it was “encrypted” no matter what either A. the bot would learn that Death Mask’s code is XX11AA66ZZ OR the game itself wouldn’t know what image to broadcast.

Those don’t read like pickits, but I don’t know if a pickit references another file on decisions. I’m actually not sure how that part works. I do know they don’t look at the alt picture that pops up and tries to read color/letters and figure out what it is. There is some direct line of code that tells the game to produce that picture on screen and that is what they use to determine if the item should be grabbed.

perhaps it is these codes you linked, but I haven’t seen them previously.
