Sorry but that doesnt make any sense at all.
Our character data is saved already and unlocking it is literally changing a variable that has no other way of changing other than when the gameserver says you disconnected.
Meaning if a gameserver crashes while you are connecting it isnt gonna flag back to being not connected.
Its literally junior dev crap and its supposed to be found through bug testing.
Did they crash their servers internally while joining? Clearly not⌠one would think that would be how you test for this⌠pretty easily.
Server restart of the main server would set is to be logged out⌠all of us.
No one can lose data this way.
Unless I am gravely mistaken, I donât think the server restart caused the issue at all. Thatâs not what the post you quoted said at least.
He said the data loss happened to the players experiencing the problem when they restarted the servers, not that restarting them caused the issue in the first place.
Imagine restarting servers with 0 warning and expecting everything to go swimmingly kekw
This is why they need a ârealm downâ message to all players, to kick them off in time to âcleanlyâ close databases.
Saying they may be fixed in a couple hours means we have no f***ing clue whatâs going on and need to buy some time. Restarting server does not cause the âstuck in gameâ issue as I had the issue hours before the 1st server reset.
Its happened to me 3 times now but my friend has been playing the entire time.
Then my original point stands. They update us on twitter infinitely more than on the forums.

Its interesting blizzard has customer support going through forums deleting threads about the issue instead of fixing the issue.

The Forum Support team is in Texas at the office there. They have nothing to do with the servers, server fixes, or game patches. They are a totally different team.
I assume they are removing duplicates of the same issues - issues that are acknowledge in the latest post today sticked at the top of General.
Flooding the forums with 200 different âmy char is lockedâ threads only drowns out other valid player issues people need to bring up.
If people want to post, they can add to one of the large ongoing issue threads on their specific topic.
Keep in mind, forum posts are not tickets. They donât get someone to look at your account. Removing duplicates has zero bearing on the issue being fixed.
