Just wondering if could be possible on a future get gender selection on a phew classes, such as paladin, barbarian, sorcerer, always wanted a black paladin female.
besides that, could be possible get cosmetic stuff? just my opinion been playing this game since probable 1.08
Maybe in the future they will if they have the funds to do it. But they not gonna do much changes on release.
This is one of the changes I’d be totally fine with. More genders will make the lobbies more diverse. Hopefully the game sells enough and they make this happen.
Gender selection = Don’t care.
Cosmetic stuff = No thank you.
I think it should not change. All of this is being addressed in D4 like they already are doing. This is strictly because of the tonality of the current climate of the world and the requirements that the number of models needed would be vast to cover all races / sexual orientations properly were they to change it. If they could downcycle the models from D4 into D2R then it might be possible which would be cool.
Doesn’t seems likely as they said it was being faithful to original material and there is lore written for the existing characters. poor Isendra, Cassia, and Xul.
Diversity as in, female Hammerdins and Male Sorcs? While the a male sorceress might make some funny memes, I’d say I’d rather have some actual content and class diversity before genders and transmogs.
While I personally love the idea (cudos), I don’t see it as being part of D2.
The reason falls back to how games evolve. They evolve through the process of new games made. so D2 evolves into D3 (where there was gender options), and then evolves into D4 (which there is the same). This level of game changing tends to cost allot of resources that companies prefer to invest in new titles, or the next title for said series.
That being said, the whole movement to re-skin older games is gaining more traction (there’s now a KotoR remake in the works), and with classic WoW and now this, it seems like other teams are catching on, and perhaps this is more of a revolution of gaming, bringing in a new gaming age. I know, sounds over dramatic, but then again, if this becomes a thing then perhaps companies would be willing to invest in it.
My only concern overall is the companies that are reskinning these games are also the same companies that have turned the gaming industry in the sh!t pile that it currently is, and is the primary reason people are wanting these earlier games. What guarantees do we have that those same teams would actually do our early games justice if they really decided to start tinkering under the hood?
My opinion is to leave well enough alone. The less we change things, the less chance they have of turning D2R and other reskins into another D3 release. But in a perfect world, I love the idea.
absurd to even mention it.
… this is not lets make a new game… lets pitch some ideas for a new version of diablo.
THIS IS DIABLO 2 REMASTER.
its not kinda absurd, in fact, cosmetics its not even a bad idea, even diablo 2 got updates such as tokens and clones so…
I’m offended that you are assuming the hero’s gender; no one but them knows how they identify. When you create your character that’s a choice you can make, but the models must remain in the style true to the original work.
Why? I think its out of the question anyway. Would be too much work because they would have to create pixel versions first + all new Animations. Not going to happen.
pls no

D2 characters are iconic. Adding gender selection as in any other RPG would only contribute making D2 more generic. Just my opinion
If there is male and female genders it will be called Sorcerer obviously gender neutral… There is a “sorceress” in Diablo 4 and there is no memes that you speak of, so I don’t see what your problem is.
Since they’ve made all the female characters into men now, e.g., the Amazon, I assume they will eventually create female characters later down the line.
Here we go another account with 1 post trying to start another flame war.
It was a joke based around the woke accusations such as the infamous new zon. :-p
I am convinced they won’t ever add another gender to the classes we currently have. That would be far too much work.
Yep, I am sure that Blizzard is looking at all these suggestions and taking them right over to the Diablo 4 team.
