Dear Blizzard Entertainment,
My name is 鬼祟魷魚 #312545 and I am a dedicated player from China with multiple Diablo II accounts across different regions. First and foremost, I want to express my deep appreciation for Diablo II. As a loyal fan, I’m writing to propose an exciting new game mode that I believe could bring a fresh and engaging experience to the game, helping it evolve for the modern gaming landscape.
In the current version, Player vs. Player (PvP) interaction is limited to specific rooms or requires manual activation. Furthermore, significant imbalances arise from disparities in character level and equipment. To address this and create a more structured competitive environment, I suggest developing a new mode inspired by the “Battle Royale” genre, similar in concept to Hearthstone’s “Battlegrounds” mode.
I call this concept the “Sanctuary Survival” mode. Below is a detailed outline of how it would work:
Hero Selection: Eight players join a lobby. Each player is randomly presented with a choice of two character classes to select from before the match begins.
Match Start and Looting Phase: After selecting their hero, each player is randomly spawned in a location across Acts I-V. For balance, all monsters in this mode would be set to the same level. To accelerate gameplay, the experience gained from killing monsters and the item drop rates would be significantly increased (e.g., multiplied), allowing players to level up and gear up rapidly.
The “Circle” and PvP: Once players have geared up, the primary objective becomes hunting down the other seven players. The mini-map would only reveal nearby hostile players. To force encounters, the playable area would periodically shrink, achieved by disabling Waypoints in closed-off zones. Players must use the remaining active Waypoints to move and find each other. The match culminates in a “final circle” on one specific map, where the last player standing is declared the winner.
Death and Loot: When a player’s character is defeated by another player, all their equipped and inventory items drop on the ground, allowing the victor to loot them.
Ranking System: At the end of each match, the winner earns points for a seasonal leaderboard. Players could compete for top ranks each season.
Thank you very much for taking the time to consider my feedback. Diablo II is a legendary game that has been a cherished part of my life. I sincerely hope it continues to thrive and adapt to the new era of gaming.
Best regards,
