Hi, after fresh instalation, d2r won’t start and each time i try there is a popping window with a different report ID.
For example F7182E77-B2F5-4D77-AFE1-050AA111DCFC or BD6D7B85-583F-4EF5-9F4F-FC3A09FF8189.
Need help. Tried to message tech directly, but unfortunately this is not allowed.
What caused the “fresh instalation”?
did you reinstall windows by chance?
new PC?
what are the specifications?
the usual problem with playing on new windows installs is because of either:
- Hardware not up to specs.
- drivers not up to specs.
- windows not configured to use proper GPU for D2R.exe
for starters state your hardware specification if it’s a PC. If it’s a laptop state the exact brand and model of it.
The fresh installation is due to the availability of new laptop : Lenovo Victus, i5-13500H 2.60GHz, geforce rtx 4060 Laptop GPU, 32GB ram.
I have all of the above three points met. The error codes I receive should answer what is wrong and under the circumstances, I should not have to search in the dark - the problem is Blizzard’s lack of any interest in the matter. I would be happy to send a notification directly to people who have the ability to read the records of the generated reports, but I have not seen such an option anywhere.
Are you absolutely sure you’ve configured graphic settings in windows and set D2R.exe to high efficiency?
Or did you just set the equivalent setting in nvidia driver?
This setting in nvidia driver is now obsolete… in win 10 and 11 you must set this in graphic settings in windows menu so that D2R.exe uses high efficiency gpu RTX 4060. Otherwise it will automatically choose intel gpu, as 13500 series cpu has dx12 capable intel integrated gpu, and hence it is possible to run the game even on that, provided you’ve updated the intel driver past dec 2022…
And yes, as you’ve said having a blizz employee here would be easier, though none of those bastards want to chimmie in right now, it looks like i’m the only one with decent knowledge about the game that gives a damn about technical support to ppl…
So my advice would be to work with me on this or hit the highway so to speak, as it’s unlikely any staff members show up in here…
Latest whql drivers as of today for “intel irisXe 80 eu” (as this is the igpu of i5 13500H) should be 101.6314.
Is this the case?
Latest nvidia drivers are 566.36 whql
Is this the case?
Hi,
I think I found a temporary solution for people with this problem. The error is most likely caused by the latest game update or the latest nvidia graphics card driver.
Do what I did:
- Remove the nvidia driver with DDU.
- Install an older driver (I recommend 551.61). You can use NVCleanstall for this
- Now the game should start normally
I’ve tried everything and only this solution works. The only downside is that you may not be able to play the latest games like EA FC 25 or Dragon Age Veilguard. I hope this helps <3.
@Leslaw
Thank you for your determination to help. All suggestions were checked in case I made a mistake earlier. Unfortunately, the game does not start up until this date.
@Rosanelle
I haven’t checked your way because I have other games installed that require the latest updated nvidia drivers. But thank you anyway.
It’s a real shame that technical support for game is ignored by Blizzard on such an outrageous scale… In comparison, the POE2 technical support department got back to me after 2 days of notification, and this despite the fact that they are currently recording huge interest in their new title.
I renew my appeal to those on this forum who can decipher the report IDs I posted before and clearly identify the cause of my situation.
sorry man if i’d knew how to read theese i’d help you, but this knowledge is likely reserved to blizz’s technical staff…
