I am pretty sure their new dlc is causing the game to crash. After they issued it out, it has caused problems for everyone, even those who got the new content. Hopefully, Blizzard fixes it quickly.

Ya might give it a little time as I can’t play over weekend with kids but pretty miffed owell

Having the same issue.
Tried everything from a complete new installation, up to changing Windows Defender settings. I simply can’t get the game running.

tried scan and repair also not working. This is terrible

Same here.
in the Launcher I click “play”, then it pretends to play the game.
Whatever I try, cant make the game run.
and I was about to spend those 25€ like an idiot,… better not invest then, if the game now fails to launch.
first they made a Disney Movie out of World of Warcraft, now I am supposed t pay 25€ for a new class for a 20plus years old game,.. and wouldnt even be ready,…. cmon guys!

well, share one solution that worked for me!

I have amd plus 4070Ti, particularly after installation of new dlc, it cannot lunch. Checking log files, it shows lots of missing sprite files, missing commend callbacks, which seems the the bugs of software.

So what I did.

  1. Game version: Public test realm, install (never installed this before).
  2. After installation, click play, and program launched successfully, but when connect to battle.net, it shows not online for past 30 days, and check agreements bla bla bla. Fine, quit the programme.
  3. Change Game version back to: Diablo II: Resurrected again, uninstall the old version, and reinstall the new one.
  4. After installation, lunch, and wola, it works.

Now in game, playing without any issue, and hope you can solve the issues too. Still, not a clean and nice start for the old DO2 fans at all. Blizzard needs continuous improve!
