Man MrLlamaā¦
During his stream, while he was testing the zones, he was looking at the screen thinking why they are so underwhelming. You could literally see that on his face. And his conclusion was that it should not be available on normal and nightmare. Are you serious?
Is this really how the average player feels?
Is it only me who wants proper QoL improvements before adding content. (Even though I would not call the zones extra content )
Donāt get me wrong. I appreciate that they still work on D2 but how did they end up with this?
I never understood why the devs would not integrate their users more to find out what is actually wanted. This is not a nuclear code. It is a game for a specific audience. Be more transparent in what you are working at.
Simple common sense QoL improvements would elevate the game experience for not only old d2 players like myself but also new comers. QoL improvements Iād like to see:
Loot filter (PC and Consoles would love that)
Stackable runes, gems, keys etc
Even a proper currency tab
more tabs so we donāt have to fill the server with mulesā¦
These changes really arenāt things that would break the game. It only removes hassle⦠Game should be fun and D2 is alot of fun but why do I need to mule runes? Why not just stack them for example? Would that break D2ās experience? I doubt it.
I love MrLlamaSC⦠He is a nice dude but he is so into his own play style that he has created a tunnel vision.
I have so much to say but knowing this goes nowhere Iāll have to leave it here.
PS: Would be good to also include zones in SP⦠they are also human beings
Mrllama has always been known as a noob in the d2 community. Just got lucky with all of us og players leaving as soon as game streaming started taking off, leaving him as the default choice.
But yes your sentiment echo how many feel here. Blizz canāt be bothered to tell us whether they are at least looking at fixing large issues like the character size limit, cries for item stacking, revert trash ias/fhr/ww/etc changes, and so forth⦠think it just shows the folks are running are a bit out of touch with everythingā¦runewords were half assed, making annis more accessible made them worthless and these terror zones are bound to cheapen the experience in some way whether players no longer farm alvl85s remains to be seenā¦
Exactly this. While i donāt think that terror zones are terrible, i would totally prefer just a currency tab and loot filters.
And even terror zones are too complicated imho. There is no need for them in normal and nightmare, and all these extra rules are totally unneccassary.
Stick with patterns that are already there. Make the organ levels high TC, apply the random drop chance to the organs instead of the keys, make new areas with existing gfx that can be opened with a special item like cow level, make cow lvl max TC, anything, but who needs an randomly extra high TC area bound to an timerā¦
Hell iād even prefer āriftsā if they are fixes TC and not endless scaling Like D3, i enjoyed the cards of torchlight quite alot.
Man this is exactly what I thought⦠I know it looks like a greater rift but its actually working for d3⦠lets implement it on d2r too. D2R doesnt have to be some weird zones⦠its all about killing XD
This reminds me of Gaming Ginger mentor that has the same boring reply when people tell that the game is boring and needs more endgame content and/or activities
āPlay Ssf with my rulesā he says
What are his rules?
Donāt use Runewords, donāt target farm, donāt vendor shop, donāt x, donāt Y, donāt z
In the end itās just donāt play the game at this point
Thatās why I donāt care about purists streamers anymore, they think their weird fetish is what the game needs and that their word is absolute
To answer tour question , no thatās not how the average players think, but people like llama have cult followers which will bully anybody that doesnāt agree with his point of view
Add to this the fact that the average player most likely have already quit playing the game due to the lack of improvements like you mentioned
That would be skill rework and change to something different. Too big change. Keep it original just improve. Letās not wake up one day and see Blood Novas and Poison golems in D2. Youāll have it in D4 just wait.
oh i have so many better ideas but i donāt waste my time putting them here⦠i was chatting with a few people last night and they all thought my ideas were pretty good, better than the current terror zones weāre offeredā¦
like what if, you just had to kill the 3-5 champ packs in the terror zone, and then the terror zone moved somewhere else in game, so we donāt have to create new games constantly.
make the uber zones, the terror zone, we already have no excuse to be in there other to farm organs, why not make those the terror zones with the champ packs being a bit more difficult with a very slight xp boost, you know, something⦠sigh⦠i have a few more ideas that i think blizzard could use to make terror zones actually fun and exciting.
what they are giving us though, does not excite me, i do not want to slam one area for an hour, and then switch for an hour, that sounds BORING AF. like, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boring. i already wanna scrape my face off just thinking about how lazily this has been thought about, 1 zone, every hour, then switch?? seriously??? SOOO LAZY.
Yeah everybody has the perfect game for themselves in mind and the rests ideas are secondary. Neither of those count though. The devs ideas count lol, take it or leave it.
More space and same thing vs some new thing : i prefer new things (why? because iām thinking of me as everyone else does, and i donāt need more space, could use it, but not my priority nor the dev team for what it seems, maybe next time you get what you think itās best, maybe not).
Having played PoE recently, I canāt believe D2R still doesnāt have that. And letās not forget the 20 characters limit, including all modes and seasons, ridiculous.
All this is possible because of the few vocal purists who defend allow blizzard for putting the minimal effort into D2R because doing so it preserves the nostalgia in their mind
I have been asking for Stash improvements for Pre-Expansion since they announced D2R, but still nothing but the same small single stash tab from year 2000. All because the devs think that Pre-Expansion players want a pure experience with no changes. This is incorrect. There is not one player Iāve played with that has liked this. We all want stash changes in Pre-Expansion. But the devs do whatever they want.
Its nice that Expansion players get the love that they do, even if its a slow drip, its a drip⦠22 years waiting for a bigger and shared stash and still nothing, so infuriating knowing the code is even in the game for expansion players, just writing this makes me want to uninstall, damn it!!!
i flat out did not expect this thread to have actual good suggestions. let alone ones that have been tried tested and loved in mods for years.
Yesā¦
yes on every single count.
path of diablo has ALL of these and they are frankly extremely useful.
hell i even loved filters so much in path of diablo i made my own and for a patch it was the most popular filter.
which is saying something and im actually quite proud of that.
i cant upvote this thread enough
not because āmr llammaā said it; idgaf who says itā¦
but because i have tried them all personally and they are freaking amazing QOL features
I guess that the devs are conservative because everything they do could backfire and they have to convince some greedy marketing/business exec of any changes.
Yeah, 90% of players would LOVE to see a meta shakeup and massive QOL changes. But that other 10% are purists and would whine loud enough to cause problems for the devs and bliz. Thats the way the business works. They cant cater to the average because they have to cater to the extremists.
So sadly, we are all held hostage by the silly belligerence of a few hundred fedora wearing d2 Karens.
I think they are quite nice in Nightmare and Normal as options for players who need to gear up before jumping to the next level.
Not sure why the desire for QoL like a currency tab (which I support) results in a request to remove Terror Zones from Normal and Nightmare, they are completely different issues.
I agree. Iād even say it would be nice in Normal and Nightmare to be able to have better access to those zones for players that like level scaling.
That being said, Iād very much appreciate if an option existed to remove the level scaling aspect of it in hell for those of us that dislike level scaling.
I am not convinced that Terror Zones are āoptionalā. They will be a significant improvement to loot and XP, so you canāt really skip the mechanic, especially the XP part, seeing how XP gains are abysmal at high levels.
I think that the option for the level 3-85 part of the game is a great addition to the game. Not one Iāll be using, but still great for most players. I just wish they had an option to avoid the level scaling for the 86+ part, as level scaling is a mechanic that strongly pushes me away from games, and I am ok on all other aspects of Terror Zones.
