Game is full. So let us

Restrict you from creating or joining games for the next 40 seconds while telling you to check YOUR connection.

They are intentionally restricting you from entering/creating too many games for the sake of server stability.
While you are restricted you will see a connection error, it has nothing to do with your connection

I know that it has nothing to do with my connection, but why time me out because I clicked on a full game?

Why time you out when you create too many games or joining too many games?
I have no idea exactly how their database and code works, but obviously it matters if you attempt to join a game as much as it matters if you attempt to create one

I think you should check your connection

I know it’s frustrating heh, not much they can do, they really need to rewrite some of that old junky code.

I just wish they didn’t go from relaxed to draconian…that was the frustrating thing for me.

Old D2 you would wait 3-5 seconds between games to prevent realm down but other than that, it was 3-5 seconds between games, no problem, on ancient servers. Yet 20 years later we gotta wait 30 seconds to a minute, how does that make sense exactly? Like at all? And don’t say “oh we don’t get realm down anymore” like I said, experienced D2 players wouldn’t get realm downs either by waiting that 3-5 seconds. It really is just sad at this point how little foresight and resources went into this project. D2R, and we, the players, deserved so much better.

It doesn’t. I am letting you know why this is happening right now. Because the servers are unable to handle all the requests made by all the players.
Wanna argue with me? I am not arguing with you. They should have fixed the code before releasing the game. They didn’t. Now they are putting restrictions in place so people can still play the game while they are working on an actual fix

See, they don’t say what connection to check. Maybe you have a vital connection, like Elastica. Maybe you need to know the right people. Probably, you need to be a “famous” streamer (whatever the Diablo house that is). So, being told “check your connection” is very much apropos and is not at all similar to “check your privilege” because that’d just make peeps sugar.

Check your connection man, how selfish of you.

When your 20 year old game on old servers/architecture allows you to make games far faster and more reliably than the same game remastered 20 years later. I’d be impressed at the incompetence if it wasn’t so sad.

Speaking my mind pal. The one thing I agree that might have been an issue was the fact old code may not be familiar for a 2021 game dev, kinda like a nowadays mechanic used to car computers / electric systems trying to repair a 1960s car.

Yep, highly frustrating
