Game is dead/hitting 99 players 1 xp

I havent even been able to get anyone to join my pub games. Its make it hard to level to 99 this season most likely because everyones playing d4. I just want to propose the idea of a difficulty slider for private bnet games. It would save everyone alot of trouble logistically and socially

If you want the ability to set the player count, it’s already a feature in local single player. It doesn’t belong on Battle.net play.

Why? the game is absolutely saturated with bots

I think a lot of us knew this was going to happen. The nostalgia of a 20-year game wore off. A newer game captivated everyone’s attention and suddenly, just like that, a once single player centric game that went all in on multiplayer live service became non-functional because a key required ingredient went missing… a multiplayer community.

At the end of the day, this is the problem with both the MMO and live service model, if you lose your player base, your game is finished. This is further exacerbated by the astonishing number of options video game players have to spend their time these days. There are a fixed number of players and a fixed number of hours they have to devote. The number of hours of content to consume far exceeds that. Therefore, companies must compete for attention just like many other business models.

Difficulty slider not needed.
I have solo’d 99 on bnet as have others.
Closing in on 98 now with my Zealot… friend is even closer with his WW/Hork Barb.
It’s a commitment, I’m sure if you really want it you’ll put in the time/effort.

I have notseen anyone with solo xp until 99 in its entirety. ive done 1-99 in 8 days by staying awake for 4 days consecutively doing nothing but playing the game. Not that any of this applies to anything ive posted. Obviously doing 3k baal runs season 1 is tedious enough

Ya, well, it took me handy 2.5 years playing a few hours a day, some days not at all…

That’s what a lot of players don’t realize… Hitting 99 is supposed to take a long time. As popular as Multiplayer is in this game, it is still an optional play method. The core of the game is playing single player.

But all of these newer generation zoomers want to complete the game faster and faster, plus they want/expect more content delivered faster and faster.

Ignore Jhaerik and Darkjedi, both are noob, uninformed trash who want to bring everyone else down to their own level and will lie through their teeth to do it.

Take a stroll through MystiKasTs post history, and you’ll see who needs to be ignored. He’s one of the many who seeks to destroy the game just for their own selfish benefit.

Lie about what exactly? Uninformed about what exactly?

I did it on NL not ladder. Pretty much just aimed for 20-10% a day from 96-99.

With TZ’s it’s honestly pretty easy now. That said I don’t care for the TZs that much. Something about the play style they bring kinda burns me out. I think the worst part is because even solo it’s so much easier than it used to be that 99 just feels rather unrewarding.

Honestly, we don’t need a p8 slider, but a change to TZs.

Chaos/Tombs/WSK is always full. Most other TZs aren’t worth running as a group and that’s why everybody wants to get the solo xp and nobody wants to farm anything else after 94.

Either terrorise all zones in an act and rotate 1-5 or terrorise all zones at any time. Let the players choose what they want to run and allow them to farm somewhat equal areas in split games. You won’t have issues to find p8 games if you have enough zones to split or good zones to group.

Can agree with that. TZ’s as a concept aren’t terrible. Their implementation was poorly executed though.

I still think that they are a terrible concept, but I don’t see blizzard removing them. I think they should have rather adjusted the XP calculation after 90 and enabled more 85+ areas like they started before TZ. It was always awful that only nila, dia and baal gave reasonable XP after 97, but they could have fixed that with unique mobs with high lvl in areas nobody ever visits, like a5 caves/portals and some xp penalty adjustments. So that everybody in game has a reasonable xp income.

But now we have TZs and it’s not to late to fix that crap.

Frankly they should have been much more difficult, spawn boss packs with extra modifiers, and adjusted to all be ~ similar density/reward. Then they might have at least been fun.

Personally I’d have preferred something akin to a Hell+ where everything was adjusted similar to TZs but harder. Easier to deal with, and would allow for build specialization. Preferably with unbreakable immunities to non physical. (Also no sunder charms.)

TZ’s could have been fine, but they were just poorly designed.

they could have been anything, even a gauntlet map, but something challenging and fun to do with equal rewards and not a must do solo.

Could have even been an end game activity that rewarded an item that you could turn in for random loot that was pre adjusted to a set difficulty that actually resulted in being faster/easier to clear with more people.

Sort of fixes a lot of things people often complain about.

Hell TZ’s could even have been a personal flag where each person got a different zone, to actually promote split farming.

If Terror Zones had an additional “feature” to move onto the next one when ~80% of the current TZ is completed, that would be great IMO.

That way players would have a choice of either rerunning the current hourly TZ by creating a new game, or staying in the same game and running through the available TZ’s until they are exhausted. (or happen to complete all of the popular ones)

Combining the really short TZ areas (Tristram) with other areas would be great as well… However if they were to add this same-game TZ progression option, combining the short TZ’s with other areas would become less important.

150-200h(after lvl90) of playtime should be enough to solo get one char to 99
Anything more than that doesnt make any sense and has the sole objective of making the road to 99 longer just for the sake of making it longer

1000 hours is already a good commitment
Anything more than that is better to spend learning a new language
