Game disconnects CONSTANTLY

Hello,

I am trying to play D2R and I am constantly being disconnected from the server. I have run speed tests for my internet connect, done all of the recommended suggestions for this issue and nothing seems to work. Help!

Thank you,

Z

I also came here to report this issue. I will randomly get connection interrupted messages despite my internet functioning fine. I’m using google’s dns servers, my internet is completely stable otherwise, but I do have similar issues with overwatch 2. But i don’t have issues in other online games. It feels like an issue with blizz servers.

Same here, except its locking my laptop and shutting it down when it disconnects me. Just lost one bar experience…this has been every game I’ve created or joined for last three days.

It’s been getting so much worse in the last couple days. Literally I was having trouble connecting to the battle.net desktop app and all blizz services despite having regular internet everywhere else.

I am also getting the " connection interrupted" messages despite my internet functioning fine. this has been going on for weeks and makes the game unplayable. There are other posts about this, can the moderator at least comment to acknowledge you are aware of the issue? and that it is being worked on or not?

Right! I have been reading a few messages on the forums here, about the exact same issue, and not a word from a moderator. I have also had this issue with Heroes of the Storm and that was years ago on different computers. It got so bad that I just stopped playing because it wasn’t worth the aggravation.

This just happened again today had it kick me to the lobby twice within 45 minutes.

And I just got connection interrupted again.

You guys got kicked to the lobby? I just get kicked out of the game entirely. Please fix this issue or roll is back to 2.3, this is really upsetting.

This happens to me every game, every day - I even went so far as to purchase a brand new laptop three days ago - Nothing needs updating, I’ve checked…and it kicks me out of the game entirely, not to the lobby. Always seems to happen in Arcane Sanctuary or anywhere in Act 5,

Yes, I just get kicked to the lobby every time, every game. Customer support said to run the WinMTR network tool, so I ran it and I show no packet loss, just waiting for reply back.Connection Inturrupted WinMTR test - #6 by Jambrix - Technical Support - Diablo 2 Resurrected Forums

cant play for more than 20 mins before getting kicked out the game. Tried everything I’ve read online and still same issue. I just bought the game too and was exited to play! bummer. My specs are over kill for this game and its the only game that this happens to. I keep reading that it started happening after a patch. Hope they fix it I just want to play!

Has anyone noticed if the VPN is the issue? I turned off my VPN and got a good hour of the game before getting booted. Also, if I set my VPN to another state, such as California or even another country such as England, I wonder if it will have a different effect.

VPN isnt an issue for me, not using one.

I’m experiencing an issue where if I create an online game I get kicked out due to connection issues when entering the Den of Evil. Every. Single. Time. So, I started playing an offline game and had no issues. However, this morning I am trying to log in and I can’t get past the “Press Any Button To Continue” screen. It will briefly say I am in queue and next in line then crash and take me back out to my desktop.

So this issue can be fixed with the VRAM adjustment, which you can find if you google it. Essentially D2R has a REALLY bad memory leak, and causes most PCs or laptops to think they have to dedicate 200% resources. Some have reported GPUs burning up. Just allocate a ton of VRAM and D2R seems to be happy?

Did your connection interrupted issue ever get resolved? I am getting the run around from Blizzard after I had my ISP come out and verify everything is good on my end. the tech ran a trace test to their servers and are saying the latency and packet loss originates at Blizzard.

according to what I’m seeing, it’s very situational based issues. What server location are you playing on? What times? Where are you playing regionally? If you are playing during the hours when OW or WoW 4.0 is going hot, you’re gonna have a bad time on the servers.

If you are playing at the dead hours between 8am-6pm, you might be fine. Most players are at their school, work, BDSM dungeon, etc at this time.

There has to be some sort of commonality between the machines this is happening to and those that aren’t affected. After the prelaunch server issues were fixed I haven’t had any issues like the ones you guys are describing. Blizzard really needs to pinpoint the similar configurations the vram leak is happening to.

I mostly play by myself. So I am curious if blizzard has compared Solo games, to group games to offline games. Etc. Maybe this is a multiplayer issue?

Now there is one thing that does affect me that isnt specific to Diablo II. The Phone Link app in windows uses machine virtualization to run. It often times causes all sorts of issues especially when I am streaming games. I have to shut this down in the background when I’m doing anything processor intensive. However it isn’t a connection issue its a system issue, I still dont get connection interruptions i just get system halts.

I was of the understanding that VRAM is used in ALL heavy resource intensive apps, and D2R is basically a second sequence of Windows running in the back ground. It uses a TON of resources. Take a look at your performance monitor when you’re in game. Even standing in town, it’s using an obscene amount of resources. Like, I can run two instances of Doom 2016 for the amount that D2R needs. Vram just creates virtual memory to counter act the overwhelming demand and even out the spikes. The sheer fact that D2R needs Vram at all in today’s gaming market shows just how BADLY this game is optimized.
