Anyone having issues with the game freezing up and then just crashing out? happens every game, mostly going in a portal or big mobs dying.
I donāt. The only time Iād crash was when I killed Shenk the hedgehog with max graphics settings. Iād drop all your graphics settings to lowest possible. Also, watch task manager on your computer while you are doing said things. See if your CPU is spiking. I would say you want to keep it under 85%.
Also, did you do a graphics drivers update recently? I did a Nvidia update not long ago that caused some problemsā¦ on the flip side, do you need to update your graphics driver?

I had this when using the Druidās Poison Creeper skill; every time this skill was active, eventually the PC would freeze up and become unusable, and / or there would be a āflashingā effect where the screen would rapidly go dark and then appear again.
Entreaties to try to fix this bug (it was easily reproducible) fell on deaf ears. All I could do is to not use the skill. So if I were you Iād try to isolate the exact conditions when your problem occurs and then avoid them by āplaying around itā.
Crude, I know, but it may be the only way to get play value out of this very old game system.

Thatās why I simply ignore nVidia āupdatesā as are being constantly pushed down to me via pop-up advisories in Windows. As the existing drivers run D2R perfectly well, āit aināt broke, and I aināt gonna āfixā itā.

Try Turning down the VFX settings 1 lower.
i have a 3080ti and this solved my crashes.
