Game constantly crashes

This morning I suddenly encountered an unwanted issue where my D2R constantly crashes. I played it well yesterday and many other days before that, but just this morning it keeps crashing and there’s no way I could log into the game.

I’ve tried updating the drivers, scanning and repairing in battle.net, restarting the PC, but none of the solutions worked. Restarting did get me through the starting screen, but when I created a game, it crashed again.

Can someone help me with this?

You are not alone, is there any Blizzard tech officer available to help?

It just got worse, cant even reach main screen now.

Same thing here. Every other game works just fine though.

Hey there,

Crashing can be caused by any number of potential issues. For assistance it is best to try and include specific information about the crash along with the system. (posting a dxdiag is beneficial for community based troubleshooting.

@Deathvader

I took a look at the crash ID you provided. It is an access violation crash. Something is preventing the game client from accessing a needed system resource. Nothing specific is called out but I did notice the GPU drivers you are running are significantly out of date: 6/8/2023

I first recommend getting those updated. Then disable any running background programs.

Finally reset the in game user options:

  1. Right click Windows Start, Open File Explorer
  2. Navigate to C:\Users'Windows User Name’\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected
  3. Delete the Settings.json file
  4. Empty the Recycle Bin.

If that doesn’t solve the issue, then I recommend submitting a ticket with an msinfo attached for further investigation. (instructions for collecting that msinfo report will be on the form.)

Click your name at the top right of this page, click support, click contact support.

Updated drivers and it’s still kicking me from games. I can’t seem to copy my msinfo report and send it.
