Next patch we need an update to gamble class items… Not just assassin claws. It has been 20 years of a non-decision with this feature. Time to fix it.
The problem especially early on is that items like wands would often sell for a lot more than what they are gambled for. It’d create a gold loophole.
Go buy a boatload of wands with lvl 5 character for a few thousand each, stash any that sell for 5k, load up level 80 char and sell them in Hell difficulty for up to 35K.
When your gold runs low, you’d just go through this process over and over until your coffers are full again.
The solution would be to open up these types of items once the price of them is a point where they are really expensive to purchase, or to adjust the sale value of items with +skills.
Gambling affixes are set to character level and item level. So the range of items will be narrowed and value even more so. The loop would not work as mentioned.
Well, I’ve used a mod that unlocked class specific items for gambling in local singleplayer in the original game and have done the above trick, and yes, it does indeed work as I stated.
For one, wands are not class specific items and are already shoppable so you argument is invalid.
I am specifically referring to class specific restricted items like. auric shields for paladins, druid pets, barbarian helms, sorceress rods, amazon bow/javelins, and necro shrunken heads. These items you cannot be shopped for or gambled in the current state of he game.
Yeah, any class can use a wand… But they can’t use the Neco class specific skills that come on those wands, which are what makes them sell for high amounts of gold.
This will be my last reply on the topic.
