Just get a magic weapon with only the grinding mod from a vendor, switch graphic mode, put the weapon in one of the weaponslots, sell it with the sell button on the lower left, buy it back, repeat and create infinite gold.
This is the way apparently if this is how you want to spend your time. Unlimited gold makes it a viable way to be honest which is sort of crazy.
The announcement of a Patch with some of the changes most requested by the community and a good discount on the value of the product could attract more players to the game. This is the time to make the announcement, but it is necessary to promise, in addition to the discount, the implementation of the changes most demanded by the community.
Blizz isn’t even doing “bug fixes” for D2R anymore, let alone changes most demanded by the community. Moving Cain in Act 5? Item level display toggle? Nah, there’s another cosmetic in D4/Immoral that needs done.

It’s truly unfortunate that the best game in the franchise gets so little attention.

In order for you to understand the answer to your question, you need to understand a basic fact about how our brain works. As a rule, therefore there may be exceptions, we lose interest in old things, while new things are stimulating, exciting and interesting. This does not depend on your will, it is not a choice, it is a fact. Even the oldest players who least want the game to change certainly no longer play the game with the same intensity and dedication, and it’s natural for that to be the case.
The changes do not need to distort the game, alter its nature, for a new stimulus to be introduced, it is enough to make new builds viable, which are currently non-functional. There is no need to increase the rewards, just introduce a new sense of challenge, and so on. Speaking for myself, I’m on my personal journey to 99 (currently 95), I no longer feel stimulated by the game because the endgame is too easy, but don’t worry, the game doesn’t need to change, when the time comes, I I change the game. And so many other players have done and will do, whether this is good for the company or the community, well, that’s another question.
