So I found a G-face but what is the best player they are used for?
It’s one of the best offensive helmets for melee builds.
Great on a Desert Merc too 'cause of the FHR, CB and DS.
G-Face is BiS for any physical damage dealers. The reason is because it has both deadly strike and crushing blows. While crushing blows is nice, deadly strike gives you a massive dps increase. As a physical damage dealer you want to get to as close to 100% as possible, and the only way that’s possible is with G-Face, Highlords, and gore riders. These 3 items are always BiS for all physical dps and give you about 60% deadly strikes. You can push close to 80% with innate critical strike passives or masteries. A good weapon like Death can push you to 100% deadly strike doubling your final calculated damage.

Fraud said it well not much to add.
Just that you can actually Opt for sth else IF:
Your trashclear is proportionally slower than your boss clear and you want more comfort and safety.
However there is nothing like GFace when it comes to bosses.
If youd fight chuck norris, youd better wear a Gfaice.

interesting, and this works with a smiter? I am curious too when a smiter uses a weapon and it has deadly strike even though hes using his shield does he get benefits from the weapon?
Smiter without GFace isnt.
OK ill elaborate:
Crushing Blow short CB does a percantage based dmg each hit of the current HP of the target. For ranged attacks this dmg is halfed.
CB is the single reason why a smiter can do Ubers at all. His phys damage is lower than a freshly born Kittens head smooch. But his CB damage against a very high HP target is Zar lvl Dakka.

Gface is very important to a smiter. You will also want highlords or maras, greif, hoz or exile, ravenfrost and dwarf star, dungos belt.

to clarify, the answer is NO. Deadly strikes do not apply to smite, only crushing blows. G-Face is still BiS for smiters because it provides the highest amount of crushing blows.
You need all that crap. Literately just stack crushing blow and high resistance. 4 Socket 4 p diamond shield is more then enough and so is a runeword like black or 6 shael phase blade. and + skills aren’t important for melee builds.
Smite you only need cb, life tap and open wounds.
Cb you’re fine with black or alternatives to it, plus goblin toe. Gui helps but isn’t exactly mandatory.
You can manage without it, anything between 50-100% are enough. Black gives you 40%, goblin toe 25%, while other boots are better because of wounds. You can get it on gloves and belts.
The most important things for smite to do ubers:
Block 75% with buff, about 1k hp, fanaticism aura, all resists 75%+(considering -225, so your resists needs to be at least 300% and poison 175%, treachery is interesting for both damage reduction, 60 all res and aspd for better breakpoints.
Use a raven ring or kira’s headgear, for avoid being Frozen.
And the cherry on top of the cake, lifetap wand. That afterwards could be dracul’s grasp.
Gui is desireable on most physical builds, smite can use the additional cb but can use other stuff also if needed.
That’s the most safe route for smite on ubers, cb at 50% and having open wounds are more desireable than cb alone. Because cb offers diminishing returns on the end of the bosses lifebar, having open wounds would negate their regen and make you kill them faster.
Gui is a great helm, but comes with caveats like hp steal/mana steal but also the lack of resists. If you can’t be alive during the process doesn’t matter if you have cb 100% or not. Keep that in mind.
Only lifetap curse gives lifesteal that works on smite btw.

So from where UnluckyMan left off:
Your phys damage is too low on a smiter to sustain with Life Leech.
Sou you need Life Tap Curse on the Mob/Boss to sustain.
You either use Lifetap Wand or Draculs for that.
Keep in mind that curses overwrite eachother.

Bis dps wise for barbs but I prefer arreats w um for 45 to all resists and 2/2 skills.
When did I say need? I said want. It has been shown many times you can budget smite. I was just highlighting what he would probably want to get BiS.
Personally I wait until I get draculs to start smiting just for the lack of having to swap and try for a cta, tho they sometimes just dont want to proc.
