Frozen Orb - Best build?

So, if I want to make a build with maximum Frozen Orb damage, would be something like:

Weapon - Death Fathom
Shield - JmoD with 4 facets
Armor - 100 life with 4 facets
Helm - Nightwings Veil
Amulet - 3 cold/10% FCR
Ring - SoJ
Ring - SoJ
Belt - Arachnids Mesh
Gloves - Magefist
Boots - 3 resist

Sunder Charm and skillers on inventory.

For skills, maximize Frozen Orb, Ice bolt and Cold Mastery, and remaining points on Enery Shield and Telekinesis.

Merc with Insight for high survavibility.

That would be it?

Pretty much this vs non-immunes. I assume you have facets in Death’s Fathom and Nightwings. CTA on swap for +1 skill.

Against cold immunes you would do more damage with Infinity on the Merc and a Doom axe in place of Death’s Fathom. It’s a trade-off, though. Doom would do less damage vs non-immunes, and drop you down a cast rate break-point.

Really want to make this build, but I dont know if it is strong on P8.

It won’t. FO is good as a secondary skill but very weak on its own. I combined Blizz and FO, using Doom. I can kill stuff on P8, but it’s a glass cannon (no ES). Blizz damage 11k, FO damage 1k. -166% resist vs non-immune, -80% vs immune. I chose Doom over Fathom because it is the more balanced setup. The holy freeze aura is awesome tho.

Holy Freeze is indeed amazing. But I made a Frozen Orb build to farm keys, it deals 1,5k - 1,6k damage, it’s very fun to play with. And can get a very high damage with Ice Blast or get very tanky with Energy Shield.

So, i’m running the following build:

Weapon - Death Fathom with a cold facet
Swap - Call to Arms and Spirit
Shield - Spirit
Helm - Nightwing Veil with a cold facet
Amulet - 3cold skills/10 FCR
Armor - Life with 4x cold facets
Gloves - Magefist
Rings - 2x SoJ
Boots - 3 resist boots
Inventory - Cold sunder charm and cold skillers

Frozen Orb does about 1,6k damage.

Wanna know from people, if I, instead of Spirit Shield, use a shield with 4x Facets, my damage would increase considerably? Would lose +2 all skills, but would gain an aditional 20% to cold skill damage, that i’m sure would give more damage, and also extra 20% to cold immunes resistance redution, that is very relevant.

But, if this mean my damage would increase like +100 (aside from cold imunes resists), I’m not disposed to waste what it needs for the shield. But, if it increases something like +300 damage, would worth it.

What you all think?

OBS: there is another build that keeps the 105FCR, using Ormus Robes, 2/20 amulet and a 10FCR ring, that would allow to use a shield with 4x facets, but it would lose +4 to all skills to have extra 20% to cold damage and -5% to cold imunes resistances, but I really dont know if that extra 20% cold damage would mean more damage than +4 extra points on Frozen Orb. Anyway, opinionis apreciated.
