Frequent Crashes

ok, taking a look

In the meantime, since your available RAM is quite low in comparison to the total, I recommend disabling things from Startup, and also closing down background processes.

You could also try a secondary admin account in Windows.

Giving that a shot now.

Let me know how it goes. I have a ton more questions now after organizing all the errors and removing old ones.

I may have to get back to you on this, about to head off for the night, gotta work in 4 hours.

I’ll update tomorrow after I’ve played for a prolonged period of time to see if the shut down/limiting background apps helps.

Okay, I’ll keep my questions in notepad until I hear back.

Just played for like 2 runs, maybe 30 minutes of play time, crashed the moment before I killed hell baal.

Still seems to be happening. No error report pop-up with this one. Just closed the game.

I have the same issue  following this thread for that reason

The Program Files directory is on the D drive (this is unusual), but the applications are trying to store data on the C drive, so that might be contributing to the issue. Also, are you using Parsec? This can trigger anticheat.

Aside from that, the following apps are known to cause issues, and are either producing errors or simply running, per the report:

  • gamebarftserver.exe (Xbox overlay/game bar)
    c:\program files\windowsapps\microsoft.xboxgamingoverlay_5.721.9022.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\gamebarftserver.exe
    c:\program files\windowsapps\microsoft.xboxgamingoverlay_5.721.9022.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\gamebar.exe

  • RivaTuner

  • steamwebhelper.exe
    c:\program files (x86)\steam\bin\cef\cef.win7x64\steamwebhelper.exe

  • originwebhelperservice.exe

My C drive is a smaller SSD that holds windows & a couple other things, my D drive is where all of my games & programs are stored, installed & run off of. Steam, battle.net launcher, etc.

I went through my processes & ended anything gamebar related, origin related, closed steam completely & uninstalled RivaTuner.

I’ll let you know if I get another crash.

EDIT: As for parsec, I don’t use it.
However, I did find it on my computer, so I’ve uninstalled that as well.

EDIT 2: I also found that battle.net launcher was actually located on C. I’ve moved it to D with everything else.

I saw a few posts that installing the game on a separate drive from the OS caused issues, that’s why I mentioned it.

Weird. If that’s the case, I hope that gets patched soon, because I won’t be able to install d2r on my C drive.

These kind of crashes haven’t happened for any other games to my knowledge, and if so they’re definitely not as frequent.

Haven’t heard about it as an official problem, just saw it on Reddit and another thread or two here. Do you have any overclocks on any of the hardware? Maybe something is unstable there?

i only have 1 ssd and same issue as descriped by scooby

No overclocking that I know of.

Okay, after reviewing the entire history of errors in that report, it appears you’ve been having memory leak problems for over a year. I think you’re looking at a hardware issue.

I would be interested in seeing some screenshots of HWMonitor (with all hardware expanded) after a crash happens. I’d also recommend running Memtest86+ overnight to see if any RAM errors are being picked up.

EDIT: Nothing worked. Lol.
