Frenzy barb, controller, and animation bug

Hi everyone.

I now purists will fall on me for playing with a controller, but I really love that, really.

Since d2r is out I play with a controller over K&M because I prefer the arcade side it gives.

Please developers,

I play only hc and have currently 5 chars between 80 and 85.
I love barb since d2 vanilla back then , especially frenzy, but despite he is 85, I don’t play it for the moment, because that horrible animation bug hasn’t been fixed since the game is out.

I get that some bugs are hard to fix, the game is still very young, but what I don’t understand, is why my zealot doesn’t have that bug, oh well, I did encounter it on the zealot, like 5 times in 83 lvls of hc action, and I have not been rushed, I lvl my chars the old way.
On the barb, which I use to run hell cs, I sometimes have to reposition myself 4-5 times in a row (!) ending in a leap sometimes, to not die. If I don’t hit, I don’t leech, I don’t damage ennemies, and I get destroyed while I desperately try to do what my spec is supposed to be.
And I don’t even mention that with 8k+ attack rating I curiously miss like 50% of my hits, when I am supposed to hit for 80%+
I know, monsters can block, etc, but diablo dies in 5 sec, while sometimes I need 10 to kill a simple white, missing all my hits for several seconds straight, seing cross (miss indication) in chains, not being cursed or anything.
The controller frenzy barb doesn’t move and kill automatically like the K&M does, and it bugs, please fix this, really. I want to play my barb. And I don’t want to go back to K&M, did that for more than 10 years.

Other than that and the transgender look of the Natalya set with that awkward transparency on the horribly designed helm, I enjoy your game tremendously.

Ps : please port it to apple silicon based processor, my m1 max is screaming for it. Oh wait, don’t , I would not work anymore. Never played that much since last 10 years.

not familiar with the “animation bug”

On hitting, I guess that’s another reason I like the grief runeword with “Ignore Target Defense”

You could also try the Battle Cry skill on barb to lower defense and damage of your target.

Yeah - diablo doesn’t seem to block but baal sure does.

Animation bug I mean :
You barb start the animation of the frenzy swing but does not complet it, and repeat it very fast, without hitting, so If you don’t reposition yourself, you never hit at all, but you get damaged while this. It happens only with controller. Extremely boring and dangerous in hc.

For the grief rw I agree it ignore target defenses, that’s a good mod, but two things :
It doesn’t work on uniques/bosses
i have more than 8k attack rating, with a hit chance announced over 8x%
I should not miss that much, frenzy is bugged for sure

How can I know ?
My zealot paladin, ok, has more than 10k ar, but I did drop the raven on purpose to lower it to 8k, I practically never miss, and have no animation bug, it just works as intended.

Another thing, with frenzy the barb doesn’t step to reach the first closer enemy , like all melee skills when you play controller

I damn love frenzy, I damn love controller, if I have no choice I will step back to K&M for the frenzy barb once the new skill bar with instant shortcut is out (was announced) But , well, I don’t understand this bug is still up months after the release, and the numerous betas there was.

i see its a controller thing. i have no issues hitting with grief/azurewrath and 1 pt in frenzy and double swing with lower ar. yes-bosses are different but the other -target defense helps.

I do agree, but my frenzy barb and my zealot uses the exact same weapon : Schaefer.

My pala doesn’t miss with same ar, when I drop the raven.
At lvl 85+ with 8k+ ar you shouldn’t miss that much. Skill is definitely bugged while using a controller.
That’s what bother me so much, I freaking love playing with controller. I just don’t want to go back K&M for only one bugged spec in the game, Whirlwind works fine
Oh even worst, I use two cries on frenzy, the one that stuns for 4 sec ( war cry I think it is, and the other one that lowers def by like 40%+ and same about dmg, so I must be hitting at 95% of the time considering this, such ar on such lowered def should lead to max 95% hit chances , which DOES happens on diablo, I kill him in like 5 sec, if not less, but a simple white monster, no. Clearly freaking bugged as hell)

With makes me think of respecting into it, its a shame since I do prefer frenzy from far.

Oh well at least my zealot works perfectly fine. I am not alone talking about that bug, saw many reddit posts about it.

I really hop they fix it, I know barb and frenzy spec, on controller, all together must be minority of ppl… but well, its sad :’

Try and use the stand still button, while you attack and see if that helps. If the monsters walk to you it might help.
