Windows 11 Pro
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090

Nothing is showing conflict/error.
Been playing with settings, but, I’m playing, I don’t get what they all do to be honest.
Game is studding…
I type /fps in game, and, FPS never exceds 30.
It’s like something is limiting it.
In game options, I have frame-rate target set to 60…
I have read something regarding getting the latest “nvngx_dlss.dll” might help, I have not attempted that.
I have a friend who recently bought this same system. He has had trouble from it as well. He went through getting it replaced TWICE before he got one that worked right. He still had issues with his video card and processor thermal throttling.
He had problems with games stuttering every few seconds. He had to rip out all of the Dell Update/Alienware BS software before the games would run without stuttering.
Gamers Nexus did a review of this system… And it wasn’t pretty:
Your first problem, its a alienware, they are known for having so much bloatware and random software’s that corrupt the shizz outta most games. Sucks though, really good spec’d computer you should be able to run no problemo
Well, I went for broke.
I cranked up all he graphics settings to max… and turned off V-sync… doing so allowed it to run 180+ FPS, often up over 250.
No screen tearing 9but, fans running as high as 43%.
So I set limits to 60FPS, got rather noticeable tearing, so turned V-sync on again… BAM… 30FPS max.
So why would V-sync throttle the game back to 30FPS?
Edit to add;
Settled in on most settings either High or Medium, VXF set to Ultra… framerate cap 102.
No tearing, and fans are running between 19 and 26%.
Thought i should update.
Yesterday, I got killed from yet another disconnect… at level 98 and as a solo player, that hurts… not like HC, so at least there is that.
Decided to take a break, and, my wife selected a Netflix series for us to pass some time.
Well…
We kept getting dropped from Netflix, and, I was having to reset the router just to get the internet back up…
Light bulb… slowly… illuminates…
I went out this morning and purchased a new modem/router combo thing… one that has my internet provides logo on it…
The game is amazing again.
It is as if my IAS and AR are resolved… much less the graphics issues I was having.
Thought I would never get to lvl99, but, this gives me hope.
I would steer clear of Frozen River the last couple months, because, chance to hit, damage taken… today i am enjoying the Frozen River, it’s like the game can once again calc my block/attack on a consistent basis… it’s most enjoyable.
Last couple months playing tougher zones it is was like, you’re good hitting/blocking… oops you died… … now it is much more consistent/regulated.
Kinda sorta have hope i just might get to lvl99 solo now that things are stable/predictable again.
ETA;
And, I’ve not had a disconnect in over 2hrs… rare!
