Fps drops and Stutter after patch

On diablo 2 resurrected I’m getting constant fps drops and stutter after one of the latest patches even though I have a nvidia gtx 1070, 16 gb ram, an i7 8700 and a nvme ssd which are all above the recommended requirements to be able to run the game. I also have the latest geforce game ready graphics driver and latest windows 10 update as well. I hope you guys can fix it because when I first got the game I was able to get through to hell difficulty without a problem and now the game is unplayable.

I also have a strange stuttering when moving the character and playing in full party and that is from the LAST PATCH… GTX 1070 with last Nvidia drivers, with the previous drivers version it was the same, that’s why I tried to update them but without any improvement.

My framerate stay stable at 60 with v-sync on, but visually is not smooth, it looks choppy with jumping animations when moving character. You can see my topic " The game looks choppy/stuttering when moving character from left to right (in a circle)" for more details.

what is your fps?
what range?

you can lock framerate from the game options window… or your video card settings also

Just have the same issue. 1080 TI. Not experience the issue before with D2R. FPS drop with terrible movement lagging, then game soon disconnected.

I have bigger movement lagging/stuttering without fps drops after the last patch 1.0.66477. When you start clicking around with the mouse and character is moving faster in different directions, the camera start jumping/stuttering. This causing a strange feeling like there is fps drops, but the fps is stable, it’s a problem with the camera movement.

I have same issue. After several minutes of gameplay the frame rate drops from 60 to about 30 with sporadic spikes to 40-50 fps. Sometimes it drops even below 30. At the same time CPU load is about 9-10% and GPU load is about 38-40%. I have I7 8700k, nvidia 2080 ti and samsung 970 pro nvme ssd. All drivers and Win 10 are up to date. It’s ridiculous to have 28 fps on this config. I checked with other games just in case and have no such issue with them.

I have this issue as well. Have had it for multiple patches with a 3070 and ryzen 5 3600x. Have to restart the game to fix it and it inevitably comes back. I can run the game smooth on my 165hz monitor around 120-150fps until this error hits. Changing fps cap/overlays/gpu settings in both game and nvidia control panel does nothing.

I’m running a Nvidia GTX 3080, 32 gb ram, Ryzen 7 5800X, with 4k resolution locked to 60 fps. Which has been stable until the latest patch. Now I can play for about 10 minutes with stable fps, then the frame drops to about 30 fps, and the only solution is to restart the entire game. This make the game almost unplayable for me…

yeah after 10 min it does the same thing, hopefully they can see this forum post and patch this soon.

same here. after some minutes, the fps drops from 60 to 30. I play with Vsync.

1070ti and i5 6600k here, also minor stuttering, not unplayable but game is definitely not smooth.

Have FPS capped at 60 via in game settings, using a gsync monitor so in game vsync is not enabled, all latest patches and drivers.

I came to see if anyone else was experiencing these issues. 3070 here with a 6600k. I had zero issues prior to today. I have my FPS capped at 80. I can see my FPS drop drop to 70ish for a split second then back up to 80. It seems to happen when the character starts moving or clicking on the screen, like Shanolek mentioned.

The same problem here :rage:

Same here, the game stutters a lot after new patch 1.0.66578 (the hotfix without any patch notes). It was fine before. The framerate is still high (90-120 FPS), but the frame pacing is all over the place. I’ve even displayed the frametime graph with MSI Afterburner/RTSS and there are visible spikes. It’s very annoying to play now :frowning:

CPU: Core i5 7600K, GPU: GTX 1070 (472.12 drivers), RAM: DDR4 16 GB 3000 MHz

same, have high frame rate 3060ti r9 5900x, but when i move my character screen jumps and stutters, have no problem with other games

I can now happily report, that stuttering is gone on patch 1.0.66606. My eyes thank you developers!

The fps drop is unfortunately not gone. No difference at all for me. From 60 to 30 FPS in Travincal killing the Council members for example.

i5 10500
rtx 3070
32gb ram ddr4 3200
updated windows 10
updated nvidia drivers (released today nvidia driver update) not solved.
In the character choice 144 fps in game 50 regardless of the graphic quality set.
Other games or applications have no problem.
Blizzard updates the game.

I managed to get rid of the FPS drop. I have used MSI Afterburner for undervolting my graphic card. I also monitor FPS and temperature via OSD using Afterburner. When the FPS drop has started for me, this OSD has always disappeared at the same time.

I tried to turn off MSI Afterburner completely and since then the FPS drop has not returned.
