Hello,
since two weeks i have fortitude armor, and recognice, that chilling armor crashes the game.
Every time it casts( more than one cold arrow - the more enemies you have) graphic artifacts are seen and one second after the game crashes to desktop. Fix this issue!!!
I also just made fortitude and I am experiencing the exact same problem. You are not alone. I don’t know how I can help them fix this issue without any kind of bug report option. Hopefully someone reads this post and can troubleshoot this bug.
After playing some more I can recreate this issue every time.
I use a frenzy barbarian.
I put on “treachery” armor to obtain the fade buff.
I switch “treachery” armor with “fortitude” armor.
On the second wave of the Baal minions my game crashes every time.
Hey Herokeeper, please check VFX Lightning settings. I switched to high from ultra and that helped me. It didnt crash since then. Give it a try

you are right!!! Its the solution of the problem!!! I cant belive, i also reduced it from ultra to high and the game didnt crashed anymore.

This one is still not fixed. Win 10, Ryzen 9 5900X, Nvidia 3090.
Merc is wearing Fortitude, standing fully inside Baal wave 2 skeletons. Notably the animation of the cold arrows known from LoD is never visible. Instead while standing inside these wave 2 skeletons, a bright glow around the merc suddendly becomes prominent, after which the game quietly crashes to the desktop. Setting VFX lightning settings from Ultra to High fixes this, as described above.
Since the cold arrows are not visible, I suspect some prior “fix” turned them off. I consider such hard crashes as important, such stuff should be high priority.
As an addition, Fortitude is also able to crash the game at the 3rd Baal wave (with Ultra Lightning FX Settings.) With my Blizzard sorc I stood together with my merc fully in the 3rd wave, and casted Blizzard, Static and Ice Blast in addition to the merc fortitude procs.
Im very sure it has to be Fortiude as in D2R I never owned one until recently. I have done countless Baalruns, and only now it is crashing.

I am encountering this problem since I got Fortitude. You can prevent the crash by turning vfx lighting quality from ultra to high, like was said earlier. It’s only a workaround, a proper fix would be nice.
