They seem to have been restored back to normal. However it seems like a very bad change. I’ve played werewolf druid for countless hours while my friends have played to more popular things like Lightning Sorc, Hammerdin and so on. I must say, that the “broken” frames made the game and the melee classes such as my own very enjoyable. Loading up the game after the patch and I could instantly feel something was off. It feels like i’m having input lag all of a sudden and everything is slower. I cannot fathom that they shadownerfed it when it only made classes and builds which weren’t at all relevant, actually somewhat relevant and fun. Of course I am very biased since my class is reliant on IAS, but i haven’t even invested heavily into it, but it just makes it feel soooo much worse. In my opinion the “broken” frames was a blessing in disguise because it added something new to a game in which classes such as hammerdin, zealer, lightning and frost sorc, javazon and so on dominated and have done for a long time. I sincerly hope that they revert it back to the “broken” state because what damage did it really do? This just makes the game stale again in my opinion.
Great fix. Sorry your crutch bug won’t work anymore
they didnt/arent going to revert wsg so it seems implausible they would revert this
Im curious to know your reasoning as to why it is a great fix? Is it just because of that’s how it has always been or?
Broke pvp builds and wiped ppl from fana hell mobs. Only pvp effected me, but that’s all I care about. So yes, great changes. With no more wsg, stunlock was a problem.
I can understand your viewpoint from a Pvp perspective. I don’t have any knowledge about the pvp scene or what’s good/what isn’t. I maybe should’ve clarified that i only play Pve and don’t think it causes any harm there. Because there is way more broken stuff than IAS frames which only benefits a couple of things to my knowledge. Wsg to my knowledge seems more like an exploit than IAS frames since it provides you with a way to get out of CC which is very important in all pvp. Ideally there would be some difference or a cap, even if the IAS frames were brought back, between PVE and pvp since it translates differently to how the game/a class is being played and what the meta is.
Obvious bug that was pointed out, gets fixed, obviously, and the users of said bug, despite obviously knowing it’s not right, defend it, obviously.
Same with fire stacking and all that jazz. I kinda get it but everyone was telling people it will go.
I don’t necessarily have an issue with them capping the max breakpoints. But, in original LoD fury druis ONLY benefitted from ias on the weapon, no gear ias helped at ALL. Which sucked because I’m an OG WW fury druid fan. The ias “bug” allowed me to use gear like highlords and LoH and actually benefit from the ias. I highly doubt I was exceeding any breakpoints, it just allowed me a more options of gear combinations that now, I’m back to having to use weapons that max ias and no other ias gear. seems dumb, and limits one melee character to this.
The solution would be to have Blizzard fix the gear issue to make more builds viable without causing issues in PvP. Blizzard could also cap each class to having 2-3 effective builds total. For example Blizzard could make a Cold Sorc built for status effects like slow/freeze, Lightning sorc for raw damage, and Fire Sorc for DoT oriented damage. The other classes could get a similar setup which would end up tailoring gear more specific towards these builds. Once this is established there could be starter level gear, mid-range gear, high end gear, and end game gear tiers for each build type. Doing this would reduce the amount of distortion with gear in the game. It solves many problems including the IAS thing while balancing classes in a way without killing the fun factor.
Sure. However I have only known it being broken if that makes sense? I do not mind a max breakpoint just as LegionXIII says, and even though it came in the form of a bug, which always gives people a bitter taste in their mouth. I wish it wasn’t a bug and there was some actual introduction of something that made the melee classes a little more relevant. It gave some flavor and added some uniqueness to the class. It may have been super unbalanced to some. Especially if they actually honed in on exploiting the everliving crap out of it. I didn’t even benefit that much from it and as LegionXIII says, i doubt I was exceeding any breakpoints. It just made the class feel decent, not OP. I can agree that it didn’t really seem like a good thing when it was a surprise and as you say, a bug. I don’t claim to know how- or even if it was super OP or made the game unfair/negatively affected the general dynamic. Sure if you are a purist and have played forever, i can see why you’d want it reverted back to the normal LoD amount since that state is what most seasoned diablo players know. I do not know what the solution is. It just feels way more like a nerf to the melee classes, than some mega OP bug that people are abusing.
There is again some sense in using strafe (there is no sense in strafe, if your regular attack is faster than strafe).
My druid still feels like he is doing the same damage. I’ve noticed a lot more monster sync issues though. Many times the monster that I appear to be hitting is not the monster that dies or just isn’t really there in the first place. Before the fix, Fury seemed to hit all hits with only one claw mostly and now he uses both claws. Maybe the sync issues and animation makes it feel different to you?
Just play like LoD…
Stack Crushing blow again
…No. It’s substantially slower. The druid is back to only getting IAS strictly from the weapon, and not other gear.
That is an absolutely horrible suggestion no matter which side of the changes/no changes divide you’re on.
Hard pass.
Sheesh, I thought the faster attack frames were among the few good changes going from LOD to remaster. It didn’t break much, maybe other than assassins. Most builds got less DPS with all the extra IAS required to reach those new breakpoints, and physical dmg chars required a buff to begin with anyway
Well the purpose of D2R was to revive the classic and give you an exact replica of the gameplay and its mechanics
Not something new. And they’re already pushing the boundaries.
Imma miss my dead mercenaries in town.
Unintentionally creating entirely new builds because of bugs is fun, but obviously it was never gonna last. Just like the sorc cold immunity bug.
this is a problem with melee builds
they are just undewhelming
Yup. This game only has been and still is for caster builds. No reason to play anymore if I have no option other than playing vanilla sorc pal nec.
literal loser purist moron
