I know this should probably go in bug report but its more of a fix to a bug.Im not sure why this is crashing the game with no report as to why but its because of image sharpening in the video menu.I messed around with a lot of settings and found it as the root cause.I had mine initially at like 60% sharpening, game crashed every 2 runs, then went down to 40% got a crash every 5-6 runs, went down to 20% had a crash every 30 runs or so then basically put it to 0% and the game hasnt crashed yet.I know this kind of sucks cause image sharpening makes the game look better but I hope it works for you.
its your computer unable to handle the mass animations at once that proc when he died
otherwise he dont dc ppl with healthy comp
it would have been considered higher mid range like 2 years ago lol.
I use an
i5-11400
RX 6600
16 gigs of ddr4 3200mhz(dual channel)
2 SSD’s 1 is a Samsung 512gb NVME drive (where Windows and D2R is stored and a few other games I got)
Samsung 870 EVO 1 TB Sata SSD for other games
the computer doesnt suck, its just a mid ranger a few years ago, shouldnt be crashing though. all temps are good cause I monitor them in OSD
Does the problem happen with the temp monitor overlay off?
I understand the point of using temp monitors if you’re testing to see if temps are getting too high, but there’s no need to run it all of the time especially if you know the temps are good.
I have seen cases where screen overlays like FPS display and temp monitors causing issues with games.
The D2R overlay is crappy coded. That’s why it needs way more gpu than necessary and that’s why it’s throwing random bugs like that.
They should really work on the performance issues of the game. It’s not a triple A title but it’s still messing with gpus like it would be.
I know this sucks, completely get it, but why not just not do shenk?
Is your fps capped? even with good systems with an uncapped FPS you can run into problems because of the legacy graphic underlay going wild.
I just did a lot of testing to try and determine the cause of the crash before I started looking for topics on it. For me, VFX Lighting Quality was the cause. Ultra = crash every time. Low = never crash. All other settings are maxed, I have sharpening at 80%, and am using DLSS Quality. Resolution is 3440x1440 @100Hz, and am using a 2080 Ti, i9-9900k, with 32GB RAM on a Z390 ASRock ITX motherboard. FPS is called in NVIDIA Control Panel, but not in game.
Its a common bug. I have D2R on switch and most of time the game crash.
On pc too, even with low settings.
This is a very common crash in every plataform.
They should just reduce shenk death animation.
rofl, do you actually think its the computer?
i have z790, a 13600k
32GB ddr5 6600 ram
and a 4090
i play at max settings at 4k
mosaic STILL crashes my the client.
plz stop trying to say " its their computer that cant handle it"
its not, its the game itself
Mosaic and Shenk have never crashed any of my PCs or Switches… certain hardware may be more sensitive to these spikes…
iirc its not hardware at all but graphical settings, there is something about max graphics of a particularly setting that the game cant handle properly and crashed with no crash report… just straight up closes
your computer is probably too lower end to even attempt to display that setting so u don’t get the issue… and the switch well… yeah that thing has no graphics to speak of
Lol I have 2 high end PCs running d2r at max settings and 1 old a$$ one yo, only time I experience crashes are running multiple instances on one PC
FYI to anyone reading this thread.
The shenk crash bug happens when shenk has the “Multi-shot” modifier. When he does, for whatever reason, the death animation that makes the fire comes out also gets “multi shot” so it makes the animation play multiple times at the same time. This causes the game to run out of memory and just crash.
Doesn’t matter if you have a great PC, its probably going to happen.
The easiest way to “fix” this, is when you notice he has multishot, move off the screen like down and to the right a bit. You can still keep the flames in the top left corner so you can see when they dissipate, then you can go collect your loot.
I have an MSI Cyborg gaming laptop, im not super computer savvy so all I can remember is that its got a pretty modern graphics card and its i7 - further, I use it to play much higher spec games. I crash at Shenk and also get crashed sometimes with mosaic assassins. Never had this problem in the original diablo many years ago on a far crappier PC.
hmm,I usually log on here to see what people are up too on posts,I dont say much or anything at all anymore just read some posts here and there. My OSD shows around 28% cpu usage and around 40% GPU usage with vsync 1080p maxed out(because I only have a 60 Hz monitor) since thats all it takes to run 60fps , The GPU wattage is only pulling around 50 watts because I have it locked at 60 fps and I have an 500w 80+ Gold PSU so thats not the problem. Not sure what the problem was or is.I havent played this game since I can actually remember. As for Shenk,I did Shenk for the rare drops. But Hello everyone, hope you all have been good.Just surprised this got brought up 9 months later
