Leap Attack needs to be fixed in more ways than one.
First of all, the move needs to be a viable escape maneuver as it is in the original. Secondly, it needs to be usable repeatedly against one and the same enemy – against, just like in the original. As it stands right now, you can only land a single leap attack against the same enemy since you’re forced to gain distance before committing to a second one.
There are many ways to solve this particular issue and they’re all easy to implement. The easiest one would probably be to remove the glitch where a leap attack within melee range results in a regular attack. Although this particular fix would not help with the defensive application of the move, nor would it help other classes with their targeting. Which is why another solution would be preferable, perhaps on top of it.
It shouldn’t be hard to let us target our skills by either:
- Holding down LB/LR and using the left analog stick to move a cursor which dictates the positioning of the skill.
- Using the right analog stick to move the cursor. In this case, cursor always remains on screen since you wouldn’t be able to use it in conjunction with the non-shoulder buttons otherwise.
I honestly find it rather disrespectful that they haven’t acknowledged this issue and announced that they’re working on it. I mean, the game is supposed to play like the original, but this really hurts some classes and builds to the point where you pretty much can’t use them properly.
