The only way to make this skill remotely useful is for a complete redesign. The developers should change the name to “Intimidating Presence,” and allows the burly barbarian to get reduced vendor prices through sheer intimidation, which feels thematic for the Warcries skill tree. This fits the fantasy of a GF Barb intimidating vendors and doing excessive gambling…
Intimidating Presence: passive that reduces vendor prices by +1% per level (limited to hard points only)
This redesign is being proposed as the vendor discount was done as a holiday perk and could be easily transfered to a skill.
Find Potion is useless because Find Item drops potions as well. Aaaaand because monsters drop a ton of potions anyway.
1: Change Find Item to eliminate the dropping of all potions (health, mana AND rejuvenation)
2: Double the number of potions that Find Potion drops.
3: Reduce the number of potions that drop from monsters by 50%.
I think the game would be pretty neat, if the itemization and pace of gear progress was more like the original Diablo. Potions a lot more valuabe, and less drop clutter on the screen overall. It would, of course, need a complete balance overhaul.
The premise of Find Potion is a flawed design and needs a complete overhaul to make it relevant. Potions are simply to prevalent in the game for this skill to be remotely useful. If they remove all potions from vendors, then maybe we can talk… but that will not happen.
Good path forward is to redesign to reduce vendor prices and instantly becomes useful for GF Barbs, which helps with lowering gambling prices. This fits the class fantasy of a burly barb getting reduced prices through sheer intimidation and is thematic for Warcries skill tree.
With 20 hard points, Intimidating Presence would reduce vendor prices by 20%.
You must have really got hooked on that -50% vendor discount during xmas, eh?
So with an additional 20 to all skills, that’d be another -20%?
Weren’t there reports of people abusing this just to “farm” gold from vendors? I’m sure those eager enough to write shop bots would love this to become a reality.
