Hello, I’m on the beta and I really like the game as it is. On the other hand, I am a little disappointed to see that we cannot change the gender of our characters and to have the possibility of choosing Male or Female. Playing only female characters I would not play all the classes and I find that a shame. in any case thank you for this change because I had trouble staying on the game before because it was too pixelated for me.
Bummer, you can’t always get what you want. Sorry you won’t enjoy all the classes because you need to have it look a certain way.
Maybe mods will help you in the future, this is your only option unfortunately
Wow… are you really assuming the genders of these characters? Shame on you. Who’s to say, which gender is which. That’s not up for you to decide.
Sarcasm aside, this is just me. I’m glad they lock gender classes.
Two big ones, were D2 and Warframe.
I never wanted to play a “Girl” because I was a 9 year old boy. (YUCK GIRLS) but I easily overlooked that because the Sorc is amazing, Assassin is badass. Same with other game with this feature. And truth, it made girls seem more badass to me.
I get the desire of wanting to “Customize” your own character, to how you desire them to look. That’s all find and dandy, but there’s positive in gender locking classes and forcing players to play them as they are. At least it had a positive influence on me growing up. Now I can easily overlook gender locked anything.

So I do not understand your comments … I never demanded anything … I just give my personal opinion and of course what I don’t like too much. I do not ask at any time that they change for me … why should I be ashamed ???

Personal advice is to not play the characters, because they don’t need to have Man/Woman/Xchromosome/Ychromosome in order to be played. This is the design choice, sorry you don’t understand the design choice, maybe you should ask David Brevik instead.

- First part, was me being sarcastic. In today’s climate, openly saying something is “male or female” could be mis-gendering
(That’s the joke) - I was giving my own personal story. Where being forced to play gender locked classes, made me appreciate and realize how awesome that gender is.
It has nothing to take away from your personal opinion, and I don’t mean for it to come across that way. Of course being able to customization to your character, is always a great feature. Sometimes, not being able to change certain aspects such as gender, is a good feature to stay as is.

I wouldn’t be upset if we could change genders in D2R. Female Barb? sweet. Or male Sorcerer? Awesome. Would be a great feature.
i’am neither for or against it personally.
But i highly doubt it’ll be a thing , considering how much works there is to do just for that (all 3d models , skin you would have to do for that and also the pieces of equipment that would need to go along with it and even the character’s speech and npc speech etc… in every language)
That’s a lot of work (even if it doesn’t seem like it at first glance)
The only way i would see it happening would be if diablo 2 R was a blockbuster and they would make an expansion of it which i doubt would happen in the first place.
And even then , it might not happen
That’s the kind of thing that have to be done when the game’s development is in it’s early stage.

i agree, we should have an option for genderfluid, trans and queer. being forced on only 2 genders in the year 2021 is shameful.

Unlike many of the posts I’ve read about deep changes inside the game, character customization seems like something VV could easily at at char creation.
It also seems like the easy, non-game changing additions that might happen - but only if D2R makes Blizz a lot of money thru sales. If this game takes off at launch, who knows?
But, I also think that without a ladder, most of the community will be like me - they’ll not play much at all at launch and will wait until it’s available. We’re not going to play D2R in a way we never played D2.
This will hold back initial D2R sales, Blizz execs will give D2R a bad rep and quickly lose interest in the title, hoping D2 Immortal will pick up the revenue slack. This loss of management support is the kind of thing that prevents innovations like character customization being added.
It’s almost like the launch of D2R is destined/programmed to fail as a business case… 
Well, I guess we would only need 6 new gendered classes though, right?
I mean the Amazon is already both genders, right?
But yeah I would like to play a male assassin or a female necro!
