some feedback here,
Pro
- looks cool when proc, look that dude have a hellfire torch!
cons
- distracting eye, barely can see what beneath the fire, are still enemy under the fire? should i run if enemy still there?? are enemy coming to my face?? any item drop?? what do i do? cant see a thing
- damage are invalid for hell lv or nightmare (edit : lv75 you will rarely farm at nightmare)
any though?
suggestion - reduce the fx firestrom , and buff it, or remove the firestrom

Yes I agree, the firestorm proc doesn’t really add any value to the game…
There are so many items in the game that proc firestorm - it doesn’t feel special, it jus tlooks like spam…
Also… My main character is a fire druid. I really dislike that as a druid, my firestorm looks less impressive and has less AoE than a hellfire torch.
My opinion is that the range and AoE of a firestorm proc should at the very least be no different to a druid’s.
On a side note, if they are revising the druid’s spells and they do want firestorm to have a large range (like the hellfire torch) why don’t they ramp up the range with each level? Or give a synergy that increases the range?
Then a pure firestorm druid might be a build?
If the hellfire torch came with a button on it to turn off the “effect” I would turn it off. Its pretty pointless. What would they call it if there was no hellfire though I wonder? Stat stick 9000 maybe…

In defense of firestorm torch proc, yes it can be distracting, but so can many skills/spells. And the damage is not entirely insignificant, yeah maybe on Hell it’s not gonna do much but it still does something. And nightmare it definitely can do some good damage. So idk that those cons are really that much of cons. I wouldn’t be opposed to turning it off somehow or whatever, I just don’t really see much of a problem with it as is
HAHA good point i will turn off the torch fire if possible! those fire fx so distracting the eye
I dont like that effect honestly.

seems you are not realizing the full scope of the ability, Firestorm actually added a decent amount of dps to my hybrid kick sin in hell and I actually could feel it’s damage difference when it triggered, with fast enough attacks it can be somewhat strong coupled with other factors
just because you didn’t make it work, doesn’t mean it’s faulty, hey I wish law bringer didn’t have rip mod either, but that’s what we get, we need to know how to make it function, that’s what the game is all about

buy some glasses dude :S there no issue seeing enemies in that fire…as for drops…why would you want to see drops mid-combat ? or are you just camping diablo//baal drops pressing alt to snag it b4 everyone else while u do nothing ?
additionaly…even if fire is active…pressing alt and viewing items in the middle of fire is not even an issue(never been an issue when i had to view it in the fire in the countess tower)
item wise…only have issue with translucent(grey) socket items blending with the background…which is not even a fire issue
finaly the dmg ain’t as insignificant as you seem to think

i should play with sunglasses? yea ofcourse i want to see item drop text on the battle its efficient waiting the fire to gone is redundant, i always toggle on for item, no need to pressing alt repetitive, its on the option menu
I think i’ve mentioned at some point that having video options to disable spells would be a thing folks would use. if incorporated into the item somehow, like that button you mentioned, would be interesting.
helps cut down on that lag when you’ve got lots of players in the same area.
if this was Unity Engine, I would suggest adding a tag to the VFX element that represents each spell effect so each could be enabled or disabled client side with a radio button that is displayed on an option window. But the buttons would reference the built-in show/hide feature available on the stock VFX asset. So basically all’s your doing is building an options window for previously unused built-in options that only lack a toggle button during runtime.

If you could turn it off or remove it, it wouldnt be the hellfire torch anymore, would it…

There is a fix to this. Put the torch into your horadric cube. The effect will go away

Wow! This is incredible! Added bonus is that it makes my character look like he’s not wearing any armor… or weapon… hmmmm

My thought is that it’s unfair for casters. They won’t proc the firestorm. Should be fixed for casters!
They can cast hydra instead.
