I think it would be a smart move for Blizzard to add the ability for D2:R to use the original game as its “heart”, and still function as if it were the original game in all of its glory: Open and closed Battle.lag play, TCP/IP gameplay, all of the bugs that people have become attached to, relentless botting/hacking without any consequences, random disconnections/rollbacks due to people duping, etc., except with better graphics! And it would be compatible with people playing just the original game. Of course this would require owning legitimate copies of both games.
Do it Blizzard. DOO ITTT
Like it? Don’t like it? Sound off in the comments either way.
I mean, that’s kinda what I was expecting D2:R to be, outside of the shared stash, at least initially; mostly just OG D2:LoD with a graphics update. Mostly.
I play offline only, so most of the recent changes don’t even apply to my preferred mode of play.
Yeah I’m thinking of both sides… Those who don’t want change and those who do… It’d be in Blizzards best interest to keep both camps happy, even if it means not making much if any money from it.
Also as time rolls on, if the changes get too crazy, there may be some who jump the D2:R ship and revert back to the OG… Maybe they still want the enhanced graphics.
I hoped they would stick to balance changes like nova sorc. I personally think this is the best balance change they made in D2R, this and changing zerker synergy from shout to battle orders.
I‘d also take the stash qol and inventory management with ctrl / shift and gold pick up. Idc much about the quickcast option but it’s ok.
I ran nova/frorb for S1, it was a blast. I don’t play a ton, so she wasn’t fully twinked out, but still fun though. Brought back memories of the old nova sorc.
I hear ya, but don’t conflate what I said with either side of that fight.
I only mentioned my expectation, no judgement or desire intended, which was based on the first reveal.
I am neither what the forum-trolls call a “purist,” (I’m a solo offline player/modder; I make plenty of my own changes), nor one of the folks pushing to transform D2 into a mimic of contemporary games.
I woulda been happy with just a graphics update and the shared stash (because I hate muling).
