Faster Cast Rate question

So, just to make sure : increasing your FCR is useless if you don’t reach the next breakpoint, right? Like, I’m at 106 FCR with a Fireball sorc so I’m at the 8 casting frames BP. The next BP (7 frames) is at 200, so I really don’t need to hunt for a better spirit shield and the likes since I probably won’t reach such a high FCR value, right? I’m confused because a lot of people are looking for that perfect +35% FCR Spirit Shield, but it shouldn’t matter when you’re already at the 105 FCR BP…

Correct, it won’t matter if you don’t reach next the next breakpoint. And it depends on what FCR items you have, if you are at 105 with less than 35% fcr spirit that’s ok. For example I have 30% from Occy, 20% from 3 tal’s set pieces, 20% from trang’s gloves and 35% from spirit shield for a total of 105%. If my spirit had 34 or less, I would need extra ring or amulet for additional FCR. But at least it’s easy to reroll spirit until you have 35% since all you need is some cheap runes.

People like perfect for a lot of reasons. But there are also obvious utilitarian advantages. It allows you to do some crazy types of gear setups where you don’t have to sacrifice item slots to gain more FCR. For example, in the below example, you can hit 105% FCR with just 3 items, allowing you total freedom to do with the rest of your inventory as you wish.

50% Wizardspike
35% spirit shield
20% Magefists

That’s correct. Theres no such thing as half a frame. I guess they should patch the game for 120 frames now.

Thanks for the info guys!

exactly, I’m a light sorc so I want to hit that 194 fcr, but since the teleport only breaks on 200fcr Its better to get 200 and break both teleport and lightning than only lightning.

That’s why 10fcr rings, amulets with 10/20fcr are so wanted by light casters
