Farming places?

do you go farm every way point or just hot spots like chaos, WS, Memp, travincal etc. farm keys

I went to temples in Kurast many times, new area 85? nothing special dropped

just today I ran 5-6 times Baal, Diablo He didn’t drop anything like before almost blue items both ladder and NL

I think the game might change something, then where should I go for today

the essence price is getting more expensive because it is harder to drop I think

Should probably farm just TZ on a high player count you can handle if possible.

If the TZ is bad then farm an area your character is good at again on a player count that is high that you can handle.

You should get plenty of good finds from baal/diablo, but 5/6 times isn’t enough.

Come back after a few hundred runs. If you can’t do hundreds of runs, will be a problem. Best solution if you don’t have a lot of time is join d2jsp and you can earn FG selling what many folks consider junk or selling good gear meant for classes you don’t play and buy whatever you need.

Nobody kills baal anymore and that’s why the price of essences are quite high. Baal is a waste of time xp wise and not a lot of people farm it p1 or in split games because it takes too long

Fact: 90% of Diablo 2 players quit doing their mf runs right before they drop the perfect GG item with perfect stats for real this time it’s this run I can feel it.

5-6 times is nothing. I get a valuable drop (ber/jah woth) every 30-200 runs

The first element to take into account, when grinding, is how enjoyable it is for you. Since grinding tends to take a large amount of runs, you are going to stop playing the game altogether if you don’t do so in an enjoyable matter. It is better to have a low efficiency grind that you enjoy than an efficient grind that bores you.

The second element to take into account, is whether the areas you visit can drop the items you are looking for. If you do trade, then you may want to grind places that can drop most runes and uniques, in order to be able to trade them. If you don’t trade, the most efficient thing to do is farm at the lowest level area where all items you want can drop. That way you can optimize both on monster killing speed and on drop chances for what you need.

You may want to prefer places that :

  1. Are right next to a waypoint or a town, in order to reduce unnecessary movement and monster fighting.
  2. Places that offer a succession of farming spots, for example by having multiple levels of level 85 dungeons.
  3. Places with monsters and layouts that are highly compatible with your build, in order to avoid both risks.

Finally, it is a good plan to farm multiple things at the same time, in order to increase the occasions of getting something you want, like XP, item bases, runes, uniques, etc… The more stuff you grind, the more likely you are to get something that forwards your goals, and thus gives you a decent experience out of the grind.

All that being said, I think most players find that Terror Zones offer most of these criteria, as long as you don’t fall on one of the areas you hate.

Just saw you liked the post. Btw if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.
