Hi,
I would like to know if there are any user of Famine, using it in a non-superior weapon. I made the mistake of making this runeword using a superior feral axe, and its total repair costs me “only” 282k gold. I like this runeword, but I don’t want to waste another Jah doing it on a non-superior weapon and still have it be so expensive to repair.
P.S.: I know about Ort’s recipe.
I am not using Famine on any character. However, this is one of those runewords I wish was just a little more viable. I love the idea of having all the different added damaging elements (including magic).
Its a shame that for the cost of Jah the damage of famine does not compare to other lesser costing runewords. The added various types of damage are too low to compensate and therefore should be significantly higher, along with an extra special stat fitting to the name “famine” such as + open skill to Hunger, which would give it use for Barbarians using Wolfhowl, and possibly even +1 to werewolf so all classes can benefit.
Proposed redesign of
-
Famine
30% Increased Attack Speed
320-370% Enhanced Damage (ohm)
Ignore Target’s Defense (Jah)
Prevent Monster Heal
+10 to Strength (Fal)
-
Adds 480-1140 fire damage (previous 50-200)
-
Adds 480-1190 lightning damage (previous 50-250) (ort)
-
Adds 480-1140 cold damage (previous 50-200)
-
+1 to Werewolf (Any Class)
-
+3-7 to Hunger (Any Class)
- Removed magic damage (previous 180-200)
- Removed (12% Life Stolen Per Hit)

Maahes, I really liked your idea for redesigning Famine and added it to the discussion for Improving Itemization.
