Faith a1 merc, act2 might merc?

Hi! Im having a blast on my summon druid, and with the growing economy, i want to upgrade him even more. But i am not sure if it’s worth it to change my might a2 merc with a faith a1 merc. I could give my a2 merc a pride, and just miss out on the increased attack speed.
Alternative could be a5 merc with beast and something elske.

What do you think the best merc for summon druid is?

A5 merc can’t wear beast.

Do you have a source for decrep or amp?

Else Reapers A2 might merc

Oh, so the a5 merc is out! I am using reapers toll right now on my might merc, but i have a physical sunder charm, which also affects my zoo, right? I believe the curse is not that usefull anymore

Hey Grenaa,

it seems like you are missing out some information on resistances and sunders.
The decrep curse is more helpful than ever, because first the sunder breaks immunity from 100% to 95% - after that the decrep hits and lowers even further. Your dmg on 95% resistance will be crap compared to added decrep on the before immune mob.

I would use Reapers in areas with physical immune mobs and pride when there are none.

Additional idea: What about Beast on your druid?

So fana, conc and might at your hand and in physical immune areas you switch to reaper.

Just my 2 cents.

You should do a a2 infinity merc if you have melee summons with a mana creeper vine. Beast on in your hand like lucifer said

Thank you, but i actually avoid physical immunes as much as possible, and the sunder takes Care of those i meet, but Thank you for telling me!

Regarding equipping beast would be bis, but the missing fcr from HOTO seems not so tempting. I am mostly doing p1 so a supplement from my merc seems like the best option here.

Hustle on weap for A2 merc might be a fun way to get Fanat, albeit just level 1

Mobs in hell have a lot of phys resistance and decrep removes 50% phys reduction which doubles your damage on a mob that had previously 50% reduction. Pride is a noob bait if you have no sources for amp/decrepify.
Do you guys even know how damage calculations work?

I have thought of that, but level one seems like a bad Trade for the curse.

I pretty much melt hell tbh. I think increased attack speed with the ekstra damage from faith would do good. But Maybe i should just accept the fcr decrease and use beast.

The lama recommend using beast and give pride to merc

Infinity mainly drops enemy defense to 0 and your summons slap chop it down

Are you hybrid that shifts to Bear or Wolf and joins into the attack from time to time?
What is you Faith bow base?
Are you invested in Oak and HoW or just one or the other?
Do you have Enigma?
If so, are you zoom-zoom tele-stomper or a cruiser?
Do you have any respecs/tokens?

I am uncertain, but it does not seem to for me.

When playing as a Summoner, it depends on whether you’re Druid or Necro. If Necro, your options are effectively anything you desire because you cast the curses so your Merc is just there to grant useful auras/buffs. Act 1 can grant Fanaticism(Faith), Concentration(Mist) or Thorns(Edge) while making enemies easier to hit with Inner Sight. Act 2 can provide Multiple auras with Concentration(Pride)/Holy Freeze(Doom)/Conviction(Infinity) + Might/Thorns/Defiance/Blessed Aim/Holy Freeze. Act 3 can supply Enchant and other aura buffs(like Thorns via Bramble and Resist Fire via Flickering Flame(makes minions Fire Immune if strong enough!!!) and finally Act 5 can supply Might(Last Wish) and Fanaticism(Hustle), although the latter is rather weak compared to Beast or Faith.

As Druid Summoner, your options are pretty much limited to ones that can cast debuffs for your minions to take advantage of. That effectively rules out Act 3 because no runeword that they can equip yields the desired result. That leaves Act 1(which isn’t great because Wrath is all you got… Brand ctc is being struck… not ideal) and the two melee merc’s in Act 2 and Act 5. Act 2 is the most reliable of the two given it has a base aura and Reaper’s Toll going for it. Act 5 can yield Decrepify too via Lawbringer but it’s ctc proc isn’t as high and generally can’t yield Might without paying a lot for it(LW isn’t cheap). Thorns via Bramble on either of them is also recommended given how strong it is on Summoner builds.

As for Physical Sunder Charms, they affect anything you Summon(Traps + Minions) but doesn’t do squat for Mercenaries.

Wow alot of good input here! I went for beast instead of hoto, and must say i was a bit dissapointed. I start to think that the problem isnt the damage, but the missing aoe.
The fcr loss from hoto isnt great either. I like to take multiple zones each run, but with arach and fcr rings, this might be the solution.
But i Can afk a full baalrun now, which is nice haha!

I am a summon only, just telestomp, take a step and wait for screen to be clear. Seriously the best ladder i had in years. Zoo keeper is underrated.

Also the mana creeper was a nice addition when i cant run insight.

There is a thread in the Druid Forum where I’ve been playing around with my Act2 Merc, on my Summon Druid guy.

About 2/3rds, 3/4rs of the way down (22 days ago) the topic starts on Act 2 Merc testing/playing…
It’s a bit of a read, but maybe helps you make some decisions.
