Battlenet and D2R loads up properly until I select a character. When i select the character to play it starts to load but I get a “failed to join game” screen and it returns to character select screen. I re- installed the game and get the same.
This support is not helping. After re-installing the game I would think that any in game problem would help. How can i talk to a human being? How do I get a ticket.
Upon further troubleshooting i can play on line but cannot play off line. This is a big deall to me because i am on satellte internet and it is too laggy to play on line most times. I tried creating new characters off line but get the same problem.
Would be nice to have human support. I have been playing diablo II since it came out and is my go to game. When I hit the continue button on this screen it doesn’t even list a D2R problem solving selection.
I have re- installed both D2R and battllenet and deleted all logs.
How does one contact a human being for support?
The problem is likely due to a corrupted shared stash file.
1: Navigate to C:\Users\YourUserFolder\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected\
2: For Softcore:
- Rename “SharedStashSoftCoreV2.d2i” to “SharedStashSoftCoreV2.d2i.old”.
For hardcore:
- Rename “SharedStashHardCoreV2.d2i” to “SharedStashHardCoreV2.d2i.old”.
3: See if you can play the game with a local character. (The game will automatically create a new shared stash file)
If you are able to play, then that confirms that the shared stash file is corrupted. Unfortunately a corrupted shared stash file can’t be repaired, and any saved items that you had in the shared stash would be lost. The only hope would be if you keep backups of the file, which you could try restoring a recent backup copy of it.
If you still aren’t able to play, then it must be some other issue… You’ll need to roll back to the original stash file by deleting the newly created shared stash file and then rename the .old stash file back to the original name.
Thank you Darkjedi, you have helped me fix this problem. I simply deleted the entire file. Hopefully that won’t goof anything else up.
I frequently delete all characters and start over. LoL I couldn’t imagine 25 years of characters.
yeah so nvm my answer in the other thread, since you laready have your answer
