Any advice for “Failed to initialize graphics device” error?

I get the same error and im well above the req specs.
But ive also never played a game that wouldnt let you run it even if you are below what they recommend.
Hopefully its a BUG as this launch isnt going good

I don’t get this error until I run in Windows 8 Compatibility. Then it pops up. I am assuming its the same error.
I have the same issue. Win10, Core i7-2600 with AVX, Radeon HD 7570 graphic card (also have integrated graphic card)

same here. i have windows 8, 16GB ram, Geforce GTX 745
Sc2 and WoW are playable on high grafic with no problems… never had this error before. Hope its a bug or something.
I had the same issue, I went in the diablo 2 resurrected folder, right clicked on the “D2R” application, went in properties, compatibility and I chose vista service pack 1. Seems like everything is fine, but if it bugs again I will try to report it. Give it a shot guys.
I forgot to add, I start the game in admin FROM the folder itself, haven’t had a problem since.

Locate D2R Folder
Right click D2R application and go into Properties
Under compatibility select " Vista Service Pack 1 "

I had this error as well. Updating my graphics card drivers fixed it.
Running an AMD Phenom II 1100T Black Edition with a nVidia GTX 980Ti on Win7. No issues running the game yet.
2 thumbs up for Blizzard letting us use our old dinosaurs on new games and save this old beast from landfill.
I continue to get an error on launch stating either my graphics card or drivers are a problem. I have an Intel HD 4600 with Nvidia GTX960 and checked / updated drivers. Both state they have the best and most up to date drivers. Any suggestions? I’m running out of patience after screwing around for two days!
so why can I play diablo 3 but when I try to play diablo 2 that I paid for it gives me a graphic’s error and will not run??? I’m not to happy right now…thanks for any help…

D2r has higher requirements as D3.
