Failed to Authenticate

I’ve had this error occur a couple times over the last few days. The game gets hung up on new intro screen while trying to connect to bnet. When I finally get into the the character select screen, I’m in offline mode. I click on online mode and get “Failed to Authenticate”

It was annoying when it happened, but usually closing the game and relaunching would fix it. However, this morning I’ve tried multiple times and I keep getting the error message.

Same issue. Ive had it happen the past few days. Yesterday the issue persisted the full day, i was able to play about 30 minutes today and it happened again. appears to be an issue on their end, not mine, as Ive done just about everthing i can think of my side. Had a ticket put in on Sunday, no reply yet…

Got this one too. Left a ticket:

When i launch Diablo 2 ressurected it automatically goes to the offline characters. When i click on Online, it gives the error: Failed to authenticate, please try again.

What i tried to fix it:

  • reset modem
  • check if battlenet account is online (it is)
  • re install game 2x
  • scan and repair a dozen times
  • run as administrator, no optimalisations when in fullscreen checked
  • switch server to ameria, asia and back to europe
  • turn of firewall/virusscanner

Nothing of it helped.

I got this error about 4 days ago. After that time i was able to play for a few hours in the evening and next day the error was back. Later that evening again i was able to play for a few hours. Then after the update on 27-9-2021 im getting this error every day. (last 2 days).

Please help

Same here…this game sucks. I requested a refund from Xbox because it has been going on 3 weeks. No issues with any other games.
