Binding keyboard F keys to skills have issues on Windows PC. If you set a number of skills on your F keys at a specific number and decide to lower it later, the config doesn’t save correctly after quitting game and starting again. I tried with multiple online characters and offline also. All have the same issue. Also, when using mouse scroll wheel skills are not changing correctly while this issue is happening. But it all happens if you change the number of skills you used to have set on your F keys to a lower number and since then the character has to be manually reset every time I log in. I could send a video if more explanation is needed.
This is an issue with keybinding in general. My first character the key bindings saved fine, but on my 2nd character the same keybindings will not save at all. I have to reset the key bindings every time I play that character.
Is this a known issue? Is the fix in progress? It is very annoying to reset it every time.
Many issues are known to the player base. Whether Blizzard fixes the bugs is another story. Blizzard has a habit of not acknowledging bugs and blaming the player instead. Hearthstone has had a disconnection bug for a year and a half, it’s literally a streamer meme😂
Since there doesn’t seem to be a fix in sight, I have found a workaround that may be working for you.
Lets do this by example: Lets say you bound F1 to Amplify Damage, F2 to Raise Skeleton and F3 to Raise Skeletal Mage, but you don’t want to use Raise Skeletal Mage anymore, so you bind F3 to Raise Skeleton and then bind F2 to Raise Skeleton. Now it looks like you have only bound F1 to Amplify Damage and F2 to Raise Skeleton. But Raise Skeleton is internally bound to F2 and F3, which messes up scrolling through skills every time you get into a new game.
The workaround is this: Buy a weapon with a skill that you didn’t put skill points into and don’t want to use later in the game, let’s say Dim Vision. Bind Dim Vision to F3, unequip the weapon and scrolling through skills should work normally again.
This at least worked for me, hope it helps somebody else as well
thank you so much… an easy way to reset everything… set every hotkey to this item skill, if u deactivated hotkeys reactivate and set those to the item skill as well, then remove item reset hotkey buttons and then set skills in order you wish. Thank you
