Every Class are dead except Pally and Sorc

I don’t understand why some players wants D2 the same as it is. It needs class balance. You can’t do anything except ubers on a 8 players Hell game with a Bowzone, Necromancer, Barb or assassin. If you still play D2, I do, you will see that once you are playing in Hell 97% of the classes are Sorc and Pally… maybe because you can’t do anything with the other classes… I would like to be able to have fun and do stuff with a Necro Summon master or a Bowzone on a full party in Hell.

I want the game to release the same but to have future updates on ladder reset for some minor balancing.

Sorc is hands down the fastest and most efficient class until you get an Enigma. Then every class can be MUCH closer to Sorc efficiency (or even more efficient for specific areas/farms). But you can max out a Sorc and get enigma within a month of D2R season. Then you are probably less focused on efficiency and want to try other classes and use some of those non-Sorc uniques to build another character.

The other classes don’t need to be as efficient, because you don’t need to really maintain optimal efficiency to have fun with the game.

A segment of the player base will go into dueling (PvP), others will do cbaal all day (group PvM), some (most?) will solo farm Pindle/Trav/Diablo/Meph/Andy (solo PvM), etc. Efficiency and power only really matter in solo PvM. Again, you aren’t going to really care about efficiencies once you’ve established your farming character a month or less into the season.

Class balance is not required. And its really not worth trusting Blizzard or VV to make the game balanced and do it right. Try D3 if you want to do GR100 speeds with any class and have Blizz constantly giving more power creep to classes that are only slightly behind. Balance would not be a good thing for D2R.

People knew Warriors/Rogues were top dps in WoW Classic. They knew it for 15 years. But people still played Hunter, still played Druid, still played Warlock, etc. Its not all about efficiency, its about diversity and fun, and all the classes can provide that.

I’m really glad the devs have stated their desire to not touch balance.
It’s a beautiful game, and I’m sure d4 will be too, just different.

Let’s keep the games different, it’s been 20 years.

You’ve seen what “balance” has done to other Blizzard games, right?

No swapping carrot-on-a-sticks in D2 Resurrected thanks.

Just because some classes are stronger than others doesn’t mean we need balance. I don’t care that Pally and Sorc are the most powerful. I never play a Pally, and I rarely play Sorc. But I can still do EVERYTHING this game has to offer. Please leave balance alone.

(这只是你个人的喜好,某些职业过于强大确实不太妥,所有职业不可能100%同样强,但是差距应该很有限才对。百花齐放才是春。)

This is just your personal preference, some classes are too powerful that’s not quite right, all classes can not 100% equally strong, but the gap should be very limited. Spring is only when a hundred flowers bloom.

That was damn poetic, don’t care if someone else said the last part first, lol.

I think all classes can be quite strong.
Except the Barb he really is like D-Tier.. But well he has support role with BO?

If they make adjustments in the future regarding balancing i hope they will be minor.
And also bliz do not touch enigma stats!

I main Barb and disagree with your assessment. Barbs are the #1 elite unique MFer in the game. They struggle with AoE and certain areas, but 2Grief PvM barbs are amazing.

No game should be balanced around PvM

In Diablo it inevitably turns into min/maxing.

D3 was similar to min/maxing a tower of Jenga blocks, you could only really use one set per season and stack one tower of blocks straight up. The sets were so dependant on buffing one or two skills exclusively that the skills themselves became their own hindrance.

D2 was similar to min/maxing the colors on a stained glass window. Each piece could be chased and expanded upon for a whole new playstyle and since GRs aren’t a thing, you didn’t need to stack Jenga blocks and were allowed more lateral designs.

Vicarious Visions is aware that you can put new stain on the glass but if you attempt to shift pieces it may shatter.

TLDR

Let’s not have constant reductive “balancing” and just do what Diablo fans in recent times have been corralled away from, playing our way.

Woe is the Barbarian in CS runs and their mighty Iron Maiden… Otherwise, yes, Barbarians are pretty damn strong for MF runs.

Iron maiden hasn’t been in the CS for years…but yeah, it used to be an issue

High lvl find item barbarian build is best MF char in the game.

I see this a lot, people that want change frustrated at other players for not taking their side. Unfortunately, it’s not up to any of us. I wouldn’t mind very minor class/item balance on the weak items/abilities, but I’m not expecting anything.

This is just a quick money-grab from nostalgic fans, which is OK.

Assassin is amazing, Think lightning sorce with corps explosion and better survivability. People don’t use ASN cause of trap bug that makes MFing horrible for Assassin. If they fix that Assassins will be great, and they the top PvPers.
Barb is great support with BO and leap and stuns for crowd control. But also arguably the best MFer due to Item find, though requires strong items to be efficient.
Amazon 1 build wonder but still good good at clearing at fast speeds. Be nice to have more builds effective for it.
Druid very tanky Decent at PvP but not super effective when comes to kill speed compared to other classes.
Necro very good at PvP due to Magic spells homing in on enemy and such. Clear speed not horrible due to Corps explosions.

But Sorc and Paladin best when comes to taking on hard content like smite vs ubers or Sorc having fast teleporting with out enigma.

Enigma is that balance
And the hunt for it is part of the fun part

Oright, thanks for the replies, I get it a little bit more as farming is made in solo. So, as there is more and more players in the game, I guess it doesnt increase chance to get better gear ? You have the same chance to get good gear in solo than on a 8 players party right ?

Loot per player is worse in an 8p game partied in the same area, all things considered.

When you factor in bossmonster and Act boss loot tables, it’s even better for the solo player.

When it comes to runes, the most efficient is each player soloing a different area in hell, separately.

Drops are increased per player in the game/area, but those are not proportionate exactly to the number of players in the game. Most people farm bosses like mephisto in solo or 2p games for that reason, whereas for rune drops trashmobs solo in 8p games are best…
