Enigma still required for all non-sorc builds

See title. Can we please break this stupid Enigma curse already? All viable builds require it and it’s really boring after 20+ years of Enigma this and Enigma that.

Couldn’t agree more. I wish they went away with it because in my opinion it’ll force ppl to actually clear maps and make it more challenging.

No! Just add something that competes with it. I would rather have more options than less. There should be non-Enigma builds that compete in effectiveness with Enigma builds.

That’s the issue…. There are ole Ty of options but nothing will replace speed. Speed is the key here…. Who gives a crap if you give me an armor that turns me into god himself…. Wtf you god can’t teleport at the speed of a fart and clear a map as fast also…. Speed…. Take away that and only allow sorceress to have teleport and with a cool Down just don’t kill it and we will be fine.

Doubt it. It will still be required for all builds because it offers Teleport to all classes.

Why not have an armor runeword that give you something like level 25 burst of speed or something? If :

Then maybe create other runewords that offer different types of zoom zooming around.

Speed isn’t going to beat teleport to meph’s room.

Magic/rare items need a new prefix, “Recharging”. It can only roll on items if they roll with a suffix charge skill.

Effect: Replenishes one charge every x seconds. Perhaps between 15 to 30 seconds.

Example:
“Recharging amulet of Teleportation”

The combination could also roll on rare and crafted amulets, opening the opportunity for +2 skills, resists and other mods.

Your right, it wouldn’t solve the problem, but it would alleviate it.

Now you will need to spend (at least a little) time repairing the charges or farming Gold/Rals to do it. Admittedly a band aid, but better then nothing.

While I am under belief that Enigma should never have been added to the game, and make certain classes (ahem Hammer cough) stronger than they should have been, it has been part of the game for too long now and is iconic and teleport is strongly ingrained into the meta of the game, so I am for some easier options that offer this.

  1. Add +1 to Teleport as full Set Bonuses for Naj and Sander Sets. This gives more of a purpose to these sets, while balancing the ability to teleport with gear slot restrictions and relegating the ability mostly to weapon swap for most classes instead of the standard CTA on swap.

  2. Instead of crappy skills being on charges on equipment rolls, just replace the charge with +X to skill. This opens up a lot of new options out there with the already in place itemization, such as Zeal Charges turning into Zeal Skill without needing to use Passion runeword, or the Corpse Explosion on Bonehew, or even other useless items find some niche weapon switch build like Blood Raven’s Charge.

Another enigma topic that yields no purpose and misses the point.

Every season we play most of the game without it nd seem to be fine. Sometimes relying on a sorc to teleport and boost us when possiable. People make it sound like either Jah and Ber drops out of the sky.

End game armour is meant to be Godly… specially if your asking to find Jah and Ber.
Now the focus somehow shifts on RMT or d2jsp to easily get stuff. So enigma now doesn’t really seem to be the case.

I want to see some decent end game godly armour that rewards me for my efforts.

An endgame mapping system would solve this. No more teleport to boss in campaign areas meta.

edit I still think ppl would be teleporting to bosses in campaign to start but if they add a mapping system along with like 100 new unique items that are build defining that can only be found in those maps that would really shake things up.

Yeah, they should really add an item that gives you teleport charges. Maybe around 30-40 of them ought to do it so that way you have to sacrifice an item slot to get the cheap teleport, but it has a high cost to maintain. That way enigma stays relevant as it is a solid item even without teleport.

Now, if only they could just add an item like that to the game.

Removing Egnima will give you waaaaaay a lot more options. Adding more to compete will still limit your choice between Engima and something similar. Removing it is the real option

asking about this is the same as asking why paladin using engima instead of vigor aura

It already exist. It’s called teleport charge amulet, and Naj’s staff

Barbarian has leap attack, and Assassin has Dragon Flight. Both are great alternatives to enigma. Also, teleport amulets, circlets, and staffs exist.
