Alright guys. I need advice on how to get and make my first enigma. I’ve been farming all week and over 100 cow runs and among other places too. I’ve gotten nothing higher than a pul. I’m not a greedy person but I would just like to have a clear goal in mind so I have something to work toward. Cause I am giving up hope after every cow/other runs.
if offline than /players8 or you can go lower based on how fast you can farm areas.
if online the fastest way to to start trading. If you try to farm all the runes yourself it’ll take a while unless you have some crazy rng. Also, if its just runes you’re after than go for damage and survivability since mf doesnt affect rune drops. As far as places to farm there are good guides that provide a list of good places based on monster immunities.

Forum gold like for any other item in diablo since 19 years ago.
item values fluctuate, but there are trading site(not rmt) and sites that provide a ballpark value of items. I’d provide links but I’ve already been warned once and got silenced for 24 hours 
you can easily find them using google though.
edit: besides traditional solo farming, I’ve also resorted to rune recipes since I do want to make an enigma the long brain melting carpel tunnel syndrome causing way. I’ll update this post in about a year or two when I make that enigma.
If you’re already ready to give up, perhaps this isn’t the best game for you. You don’t need enigma. You don’t need any end game items. Those are supposed to be the things you are farming to get EVENTUALLY… you shouldn’t be expecting to have them after a month or two… or 3… or even a year.

Enigma is a very rare item that you can play for years and not see. Those who have it now are mostly high level on-line traders who spend many hours a day farming and trading.
If you want to get into trading because you are on-line, check out jsp or traderie. You can lurk for a bit and see what things are trading for or just put up stuff you have any see what people offer.
Playing offline will let you get players/X to get better loot while on-line you get trading.

I have a few suggestions based on how I got my Enigma in d2r online.
- Farm uber keys and kill Ubers. If you get lucky you roll some nice sorc/pally torches which are worth HRs. For example I did get three (yes three) sorc torches in a row (1620, 1815, 1917). Two of them sold for Lo +. 2xLo gives you a Ber already. I was too lucky though.
- Farm Travincal. Up to a Cham can drop there. Plus tons of charms/gold/jevelry. I got lucky and dropped a Jah and Sur there.
- As others said - just play the game on highest playersX setting possible (or join public games). Runes will drop eventually.
- The fastest character to farm is a Sorc. I would use it to get runes for Enigma. Unless you enjoy playing other characters without teleport (assuming you’d like it though, as you want Enigma…)
- Trade, trade, trade. I’ve earned 4xist runes from selling Java skillers. More ist runes for selling Harlequin Crests. Roughly 20-22xist gets you a Jah. Trade lower runes to get higher runes (like you may get ist for mal+um or mal+um+pul).
- Be patient with trades too. Don’t sell too cheap to the first player who offers you runes.
- Don’t trade for stuff you don’t need. If you need runes, don’t trade for Titans/Bartucs/Shako, just because someone offers it.

I have bunch of characters at end game but without infinity, itsvhard to farm at certain places.

you need to trade up your runes and property. have always a trade game up. try to get your pgms to pul, your pul to um etc. until you get the amount for ber and jah. try to sell everything on market value. there is no sense if items are rotting on mules and nothing goes away, because you want ~3 pgms more or want to make a 10% profit while you invest several hours for an item. except for very valuable items.
alternatively you can buy a “low” enigma for a greatly reduced price then for the runes itself.
gotta farm places that are suited to your build.
you a light sorc/zon?
if light sorc, you will always have to deal with immunes but you can still farm areas but skip over immunes.
javazon just do cows pretty much and skip light immunes if they don’t have infinity
i have an infinity ive been toying with trading. it’s fairly high (323/49) and people have consistently offered 2 bers plus for it (way more than 2 bers actually) and it’s tempting to trade but i love it too much lol
It may take you years to get it. I mean “YEARS”. It may not drop in a year with your kind of farming.
There’s Enigma on Ebay. This game is Pay-To-Win. I hate it. It is what it is. Good thing, D3 is not like this anymore. I wish D4 would be the same.
My main issue with Enigma is that I dont need it. There is no Boss in the game which I cant kill. I hope there is a Boss that would benefit me of using Enigma. Getting Enigma is not worth it.
I got a summon necro. Good for all farm places. But my jav is too weak for hell cows. She’s only level 72
Cows, Chaos Sanctuary, and Arcane Sanctuary.
I ended up making a Sorcc to do Choas/Archon faster, used Necro for cows.
But even if you kill 100 cows per minute your talking 100 hours+ for some HRs isn’t mathematically bad luck. Just to put it in perspective.
make a WW barb, get an Oath ethereal Balrog blade, and farm Travincal until your eyes fall out. After you kill all council members, weapon swap to dual MF weapon and spam item find.
I got a frenzy barb so I don’t have anything for ww
Frenzy barb will do perfectly fine in Trav. I played like this from 85 to 90 and found tons of stuff. My setup was Grief + Lawbringer. Try it mate!
