I am a necro and i finally gathered the runes for enigma. I am trying to decide on a base but appearance is important for me. I do not want red pants. What would be the best base at the lowest str requirement while sacrificing defense slightly? I am currently considering a great hauberk.
Considering you don’t need to use spirit monarch I’d advise to go with a mageplate otherwise you’ll waste a lot of points in strength. Necros have a really good option like homunculus over spirit which should mean just a torch alone will get you close enough to wear the armor.

If you have torch + anni you could go with a dusk shroud and not waste much into strength, that’s another option. But yeah I can see how red pants might be bad to look at after a while. Even if you don’t have both strength boosting charms you can just use a respec token later once you do acquire them.

This does make mageplate look bad. As far as style points I think breast plate looks cool, but tbh I have no idea how often people make breast plates into enigmas. If you don’t care about the missing 250-500 extra defense based on other choices bp might be the style choice. I think as long as you choose a “light armor” variant the defense doesn’t matter too much and you should be relying more on blocking with homunculus while teleporting.

I think the one above mageplate is probably the best looks wise. Don’t remember what the actual armor is called at that level.

Probably the best option for getting some defense and still looking great and str requirement is on the low end.

Yeah you could definitely do that but the issue is it has a str requirement of 118 so you’re going to be wasting points that could have been spent into vita or dex for max block. Those points are much more valuable than a marginal boost in defense of 200-300. Overall I think cuirass is a nice middle ground while retaining some defense and being able to achieve the str requirement with the regular unique charm setup easily.
I use marrowalk and that boot str requirement is already 118.
Actually I forgot if you’re a summoner you’re probably gonna end up using spirit shield anyways due to wearing beast to buff your minions. So the FCR is kind of necessary on the offhand slot.
I am planning on using homoculus. Is that a poor option. I am a fishymancer btw. So i do summons ce and bone spear.

AFAIK when you use beast you’re missing out on a lot of FCR from hoto that’s why I mentioned spirit. What’s your plan for hitting breakpoints?

Don’t think fishy’s care about break points. They let their minions do all the work.

It’s more for teleporting than anything else. Fast teleport = avoids death easily. The 2 later breakpoints for necros are 75 and 125 for max.
Homunc would probably be better then spirit anyways.

Yes. That is correct. I need some fcr for bone spear but thats not all that imp.
