Part of the game, already listed in the D2 manual from like the year 2000.
Man, you are low…
You are this kind of guy…Flagging my posts and keep arguing… damnn you’re low.
Hahahah.
And by the way… players killing you isn’t griefing… it’s part of the game…
Part of a post-apocalyptic world…
Part of the universe and a part of PVP.
So go in a private game you carebear kid.
As I sadi before, there is a fundamental difference between PvP, consensual PvP, and griefing. These are not identical.
FYI: If a post is hidden due to flags that means multiple people flagged the post. The forum moderators who are independent from the discussion and Blizzard employees make the final decision ranging from unhiding a post to forum suspensions.
This is just plain a simple fact. You cannot argue with what Micro is saying on this part.
Maybe YOU think it’s not because you like to gank and grief others while considering it PVP. But it’s kind of spelt out in the acronym Player Vs Player. Sometimes it takes two to tango.
One of the major problems with pvp in the game is the lack of anti-cheat technically makes pvp ruin hardcore.
Examples below borrowed from reddit:
Most PvP hacks have very advanced features, the popular features are:
- Auto Aim/Target: perm Name Lock / Chain Lock
- FarCast: Casting spell from huge distance (some screens away) e.g. Blizzard/FoH or Teleport
- Chicken: auto TP to Town or fast save&exit
- Blink Spot Teleport: Teleporting on safe field where opp cant hit you by some skills eg Blessed Hammers
- Show gear/stats/life/mana/builds/lvls/abs ect
- Show distance, missiles and trajectories on the minimap
- Bigger Resolution: most modern PvP Hacks offer higher resolutions like in popular HDResMod from Patch 1.12 (this will probably end up being used with people who have their monitors locked behind blackbars)
- Macros: auto WSG + Tele escape or eg Smite-FoH-TeleHammer/Smite ChainLock (after Smite KB opp got “swirl” above his head, if opp got second hit there is a chance to complete stun (freeze) him for a while)
- TMC: all break points -patched in 1.14
As you can see the multiplayer pvp component has a large amount of cheating, resulting in the deaths of players on hardcore fairly often. This actually happened to me yesterday while enjoying a public leveling game a barb with farcast, enigma, autolock, and maphack was on top of me before I could try to exit the game.
Ultimately, these cheats make me think RedXIII is correct about it. Saying these hacks won’t be in the game that’s built on top of the exact game they were in, and already has recurring unintentional design bugs means we’ll probably be in the same situation. If cheaters can ruin every potential hardcore public game that’s an enormous design flaw. There’s actually a person doing this right now if you want to physically see an example. His name sounds like the large corporation in dbz. He basically designed a bot to grief public games.
TLDR: The only solution to potential cheating in the future of endlessly griefed players (hc community) with bots that basically duel for you, is to make it mutual. This pespective is coming from someone who has seen how dueling has evolved over the years and become more and more about cheating. Normally I’d want to keep this game as authentic as possible, but cheaters have created a new standard in how to design games.
Most hardcore players “leave it” after they get killed by pvp scripting automation. Someone must be new to the dueling scene if he has no clue about the amount of cheating going on.
Most PK’ers scripting is gone at this point. Trigger hack was really the most deadly to us and it’s patched out. Provided they keep hostile to in town only, we will have ample time to TP to town or exit the game if we get hostiled. Thus in HC if you get PK’ed its really because you stayed and tried to fight or completely disregarded the warnings.
I’ve been PK’ed many times, you learn to see it coming and learn how the people are playing. It’s not an issue and it never drove me away from playing HC. It actually makes it more fun. Fear of Trigger hack kept me on my toes a lot.
Nope. Griefing is part of the experience. There used to be whole clans dedicated to just HC PK’ing.
When I play first person shooters, I typically just want to do target practice on the pretty walls. I really enjoy trying to shoot all the graffiti, and old cars, but someone always keeps shooting me in the face.
please change all fps games in order to let me wander around the map and shoot what I want, it’s not fair people keep killing me.
Because it’s 2021
I said it before and I’ll say it again.
A lot of cheating is going to happen despite Blizzard locking down the executable(which is a huge hit for modding), which is a very valid reason to enable mutual handshake for PvP. I’ll say it again: neural network’s don’t need to tap into the executable or packet sniff or any of that stuff. Neural Networks just need to read the pixels outputted to your screen and find items, monsters, or even players. Cheat griefing is going to be ramped at launch.
Your not speaking on behalf of noobs, you only speaking behalf of yourself, its a problem for YOU since you are here complaining about it.
Is any part of my argument wrong? Or do you just want to create a fake distraction?
i didnt read anything well enough because i wasnt planning to take part in the arguments, just wanted to point out your not doing this “on behalf of the noobs” your doing this arguing to serve yourself. Or have you sent a poll to all “noobs” to ask what they think?
I get it you don’t like my argument because its a legit reason to create mutual PvP, and just trying to create a fake distraction.
How is it a fake distraction? Your actually speaking only on your own behalf. So stop talking about “noobs”. Replace it with “me” or “i”
Your trying to say, your assumption is, the majority of newbs will be on board with being pk’ed when they are in a legit group in a open game? Is that seriously your opinion?
Im not assuming anything, neither should you, so start using “me” or “i”
Yeah you are; hence your trying to create a fake distraction because we’ve made legit points and you want those to be lost in fake distractions. Nice try.
i said what i had to say, take it or leave it
