I am genuinely frustrated with the limited/redundant/useless chat options for the Emote Wheel for online play on console.
“Die!” and “Run!”–totally useless
“Need to TP,” “Selling,” and “Bag’s Full” are essentially conveying the same thing.
“GG” and “Bye!” are redundant…“BRB” would be so much more useful than “GG”
“Need That?” is pointless because by the time you emote, the random you’re playing with will have already looted it themselves. “Let’s Trade” would be a useful replacement.
Other emotes with actual utility would be “Need Scroll of Identify/Town Portal” or “Need health/mana potions.”
But the absolutely most frustrating thing is that there is no “Open a portal” or “Where are you? Need portal” option. It really sucks finally finding a game with someone online and there’s no way to find them or ask them to open a portal for you.
Thoughts?

Friend them and start a voice chat
You should be able to fully customize the emote wheel sentences for them to serve your needs. In game build player interaction is non existent at the moment. You are forced to friend strangers and use communication services xbox provides.

Agree we should be able to at least customize them to our needs.

If you’re in a party, their locale is shown in the party tab. Also get your platform’s respective app. Problem with this is there are players who are unaware of their privacy settings, making comms impossible there too!
Diablo 2: Resurrected discord server is probably the best comms a gamer on any platform can have.
How about make an in game chat dialogue like the original game had… problem solved. Restore the functions of the original predecessor…
Yes please. I don’t want to voice chat with ppl… but going in and out of game just to chat is stupid…
