"Emergency maintenance"... Deployment fail round 2? ☹

Wow really? Sigh…guess I/we won’t be able to play D2R for the time being.

There is a bug (since maintenance yesterday) with keybinds being reset and not saving to our characters (my level 92 lightning sorc doesn’t normally have just Attack and Firebolt on her skill bar, for example…), even if we fix it, it resets the next time we log in. If you are not aware of this for some reason, please consider this your wake up call. As it makes the game essentially unplayable for the time being. Which is sorta, not good. Especially if you’re going to pretend it’s somehow fine.

But “Maintenance was a success,” though.

Hey Pez,

After the maintenance my keybinds disappeared. All my skills changed to numbers 1-8 and all potions changed to QWER. Thought it would be an easy fix just to go into options and change the controls. However when i do save the keybinds back to the way they were. Once i quit out of that game. The keybinds revert back to the numbers 1-8 and QWER for potions. The saving of the controls only seem to last for the 1 round i play. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You ought to show him https://isc.ro/.

He’s 87 years old. That site would confuse the hell out of him. It’s easy for us, but not so much for him. That’s why he doesn’t like the later versions of the offline Scrabble games.

Yeah that maintenance was a big success! I mean, they seem to have created more problems than they fixed (again!), but at least it seems they haven’t broken the universe. What more can you expect?!
Maybe the next time the moon will shatter, but it’s about the bigger picture.
Keep up the good work, boys!

I know plenty will think this is a great post but

"We should hold back on making assumptions and running creating threads like this "

This happens because of YOUR failures the last 7 months. You dont get to start learning to communicate and expect people to forget how poor of a job you (and by you I mean blizzard) has done both in execution and communication. Thats how someone in an unhealthy relationship behaves. cheats and then gets mad when someone thinks they are cheating again when they havent forgetting they created this dynamic

You still did not mention that our keybinds are gone after each start of the game.
Do you just want to ignore this problem or did you not see any of the 10 posts about it?

he wants to both ignore the problem and get praise for doing a great job.

If you saved custom key bindings you can hit “Default” > “Custom”> “Apply” on every char to restore them.

most player, like me, use different key bindings on all characters.

I’m glad you finished the maintenance, and we don’t have to go through a 3rd downtime during EU prime time because of it.

I see.
I only have 2 chars, and I use the same key bindings on both.

Fixing an issue and deploying an issue on a production environment are two different things. And the latter is not worth the effort at the moment thsu they will release it later

So apparently we’ll have to wait two weeks for the keybinds being reset every time issue to be addressed, as it’s apparently tied to the CAPS issue. Great, what am I gonna do with my life now…Go outside? :frowning:

I’m well-aware of that.
My “freak-out” was almost purely a response to his cheerful attitude of “so go have fun with this bug that we won’t be fixing for weeks.”

Do we know if this is the final database changes?

I like to test cross-progression again, it just takes a lot of time and effort to do an actual test.

My test:

  1. On the switch, play the game, gather stuff.
  2. Take snapshot of all character inventories/stashes and shared stashes.
  3. On PC open up everyone and check for missing/duplicated stuff.
  4. Organize/combine/craft on the PC.
  5. Take snapshots off everything.
  6. On switch open up and check for missing/duplicated stuff.
  7. repeat (45 times for 95% sure the failure rate is less than 10%…)

As one can see, this takes time to actual test the feature even in a casual way…
