I was the guy who told people to chill out over launch server issues.
Now i can say that after this long I understand your frustration. Server bugs aside d2r is a solid remaster that looks beautiful. Its biggest negatives are the server issues now and is the prime reason its metacritic score is plummeting.
Let’s say they finally work all this out and servers are great. I have one question.
How many of you will return to the site and edit your review? I m willin to bet not many. You ll just let your negative review keep the score down. So sad it’s only the angry who are motivated to give reviews. I guess this is all speculation somewhat
Yes jedi exactly my point. They ll be enjoying this game while their negative review bogs the rating down and convinces people not buy this great classic. People can take time when they hate something but not when they like it or when its fixed.
I just love d2 and this saddens me.
No its not only the angry that leave reviews, but at this point those are the ones that matter. If your game is fine, and we know it isnt, just play it. If they fix it in the future it by no means makes up for everything going on right now, that is the bare minimum. They should have delayed the release and done a better job, theres no reason to edit anything. If they want to at least be honest about it they should offer everyone a no question asked refund, and then if you wanna stay its up to you. This situation right now is unfair to everyones time and money
Maybe is my love of d2 but that’s where u are wrong.
If ones bad review is only due current bugs I get it. It’s bad right now but if they fix it then said review will make people believe the game has problems that it no longer has.
People have a right to be angry at this point but if they fix everything the game review score should reflect that. By your logic they the game should be punished forever even if its fixed
Yes, it is your love of D2 thats making you think of the game like the game is the one being judged. Those reviews also reflect the conduct of the company as a whole and the fact that not a single thing has been said thus far from anyone. All you are doing is speculating that IF things get fixed people wont re-review. First things need to be fixed, secondly, we are not in 1999 anymore, most of us have things to do, some people cant even play the game on the little windowns they have to. As i said before, this was a fraudulent release, offer us a refund and its fine, if you wanna stay and do good reviews good for you. WHEN and IF they fix something we can talk about it, at this moment in time no one should buy this game without knowing what they are getting into.
I think the metacritic critical reviews of D2:R are a functional example of clients responding to numerous terrible gaming experiences and to falling for purchasing a game that was not ready for launch.
Those reviews help to get the word out that a client’s trust is a valuable commodity. Blizzard misused the trust that its clients had given to the newest Diablo game and to its developers. When and if the game is ready for a proper launch, new buyers may not know of the history of a launch that went South. Knowing of the terrible launch will help potential new Blizzard clients make informed decisions which are focused on where they ought to invest their money, time, and most important their priceless trust.
The server issues are just the big news right now because its the biggest problem.
They tote shared stash tabs, but quietly cap characters to 20 combined between on and off line.
A button to randomly join a game across all difficulties would be an improvement to their game finding right now.
We aren’t even talking about the complete lack of community engagements, including being forthright about their issues, not to mention they haven’t even hinted that community events are a thought they have entertained.
This is even worse than their abandonment of classic WoW, at least there was a community that WANTED that release. D2 player were fine playing LoD, but Blizz came along and dangled a gilded turd in front of their face.
Never been on meta critic myself but I know what it is. I don’t think anyone takes it seriously its like the rotten tomatoes tomato meter.
Manipulation of these kinds of things is just something that happens nowadays both positive and negative. Don’t worry about it.
Already am having a great time playing through the game made one of every character and solo walking through the game looks great. I have not been rolled back or deleted one of my own guys by mistake though I can imagine I would be pretty angry if that had happened to me.
