Easiest solution to op Teleport problem

I would love to see a bunch of early game items added farmable in nightmare difficulty with teleport skill on them, like early game budget enigmas. But designing a bunch of items like that would probably be a significant time sink for the devs.

So i suggest an easy quickfix that probably could be done in matter of minutes. There’s already easy accessible items with teleport charges in the game. But they can’t be used as a spammable teleport due to the high repair costs.

Just make teleport charges free to repair. Bam bom, fixed. Everyone have teleport.

Ok maybe, but teleport IS NOT REQUIRED for any aspect of the game, it’s fine AS IT IS, ENIGMA IS FINE AS IT IS, CHARGED ITEMS ARE FINE AS THEY ARE, maybe if the spell was REQUIRED to complete the game should it be changed, but it’s NOT, stop whining.

BTW you can repair charges with an Ort rune, 0 excuses as to why you can’t spam it.

Nothing but one char with one spell are REQUIRED for any aspect of the game. So lets just delete all chars excebt barb with basic attack. That’s how intelligent arguments like that are.

D2R are made for changes. A lot of changes aleady made and a lot more will be made.

If you want a nostalgia trip with everything original and no balance and changes. Go to D2 and stop whining.

Sounds more like you want the original D2, any patch before 1.10, before runewords.

Bottom line, teleport is not required, it’s more like QoL making runs faster (just faster, the game is ez), but yeah, I wouldn’t care either way, remove enigma, while your at it, also remove call to arms, insight, infinity, pride, doom, beast, faith, and anything else that gives auras/skills that belong to another class.

Easiest solution to teleport is to take it off of Enigma and add a laughing sound any time a sorc teleports past a non sorc.

Would be the most comical as well.

Introducing the new and improved Cracked Sash:

1 to teleport
1 durability
No extra belt slots
If repaired with cube, it loses teleport skill.

Boom.

IMO too many people crying about teleport, yet all use the runewords I mentioned above.

You have the maturity level of a child taking everything completely out of proportion to make serious discussions ridiculous. Go to bed and let grownups talk.

You say that, yet your whining about a skill that isn’t even required to clear the game, guaranteed you use one/multiple of the runewords I mentioned, yet complain about another one that is literally END GAME, so tell me again how I’m the childish one.

Even though this is a straight up troll suggestion. I would prefer that item from no item at all. The item you suggested would instantly become the most used item in the game by none sorcs. Literally every single person running a none sorc would use it until they can afford Enigma.

Make this item and make it easy farmed on Nightmare Blood Raven. It would make many many more people chose a none sorc as starter character.

That’s how ridiculously op teleport are.

It was a joke. Lol

If you can’t understand such a simple thing as many players want a balance change one way or another to a ridiculously overpowered skill making about 99% of players chose one out of seven characters. Even though you personally don’t want that change, and spam a thread about it with nonsense. It’s pointless to even try discuss anything with you.

I am not your father. Go to your parents to learn normal social etiquette and how to objectively have a serious grown up conversation.

Auras are fine because they’re fairly limited in how much they can scale and they expand gameplay options, it’s still paladins who are benefitting the most from aura runewords. Beast/Chaos are good because thsoe actually expand build options and possibilities. Buffs/utility like CTA or teleport are bad additions to the game. They add nothing to builds. Buffing your health doesn’t change the build, teleporting around also doesn’t change the build.

I’m sure some midwit is going to come along and talk about how teleport expands gameplay options because they don’t realize that the core gameplay is killing enemies, not traveling to locations.

Yes. I know. That’s why i started with “Even though this is a straight up troll suggestion” :stuck_out_tongue:

I just wanted to point out, even a very bad early game joke item with teleport would still be extremely good, that’s how op teleport are.

I’m just saying, you literally DO NOT need teleport, you don’t need it for MF, or solo runs, ubers, rushing, nothing, it’s QoL.

People will always run sorc 99% of the time to start, simply because of the damage while using NO GEAR, a naked sorc can still dish out the damage, and stay relatively safe doing it, it’s always been this way, even since before enigma was a thing.

The spell isn’t overpowered, you just aren’t playing optimally, the only 3 heroes without a movement skill are: Amazon, Druid (although werewolf with feral rage could be argued), and Necromancer.

IMO in a game this old, with a playerbase generally in their late 20s-mid 30s, that have been playing for 20 years, people know the most optimal ways to find items.

In all honesty, my first char is normally a barb, I have BO and Leap, easily attainable maxblock and high resistances, with the second best (and most mana efficient) movement ability in the game.

Seven characters…
Seven people, same crowd, screeching for nerfs.
Ok, ok - maybe 10 people.

Genuinely no one really cares what you think about this.

Its binary. The class balance isn’t good. The starter class is sorc/hammerdin and you’re either part of the solution or you’re part of the problem. And I can tell you you’re not part of the solution.

Teleport enables builds end of discussion.

I guess that was me, since you can literally use leap to completely bypass enemies, the only real difference is the LoS travel, so we should nerf Leap too, right? I mean, it hops through bars and over rivers…
